well, neither pain nor submitting do it for me- but I be if you'd try it, just go through a few scenes, you'd find that along with thinking "cripes!that hurts!", I hope this thong doesn't make my ass look big", "I wonder if the game's over?" you'll have at least a few flashes of insight into how and why this stuff works for the other side of the slash. Those 'ahah!' moments, and putting them back into my scenes, have made me a much better top.

YMMV, of course.

Topcat, I have no doubt that it works for some people. I may be in the minority, but it just doesn't interest me. Besides, what if I like how I look in a thong?

I have never been able to release control to try the sub side. I have however had a Domme friend apply a few toys to my flesh, without fetters. This I did to better direct and explain the effect to my slave/male. I find I have a fairly high pain tolerance, so my insight wasn't as helpful to the males as I had hoped. As to any other sub side activities, even the thought of having my movement restricted angers me. So no, I have not and will not ever fully experience the sub side. For those that have, my congradulations. For this Domme, my submissive side must be minute. Smile or should I say needlepoint area in my brain? Stay safe, Sundew

I've never been patient enough to try submission "for real", but every time I get a new toy I will endeavor to use it upon myself to see what it feels like.

Many of the things I do to people I've played with I'd not want to try on myself - being in bondage for a few minutes is interesting to me, the loss of movement etc, but being in bondage for a few hours - something I've often done to others - that would just make me bored. Fast.

So there's a small amount of experimentation, just with practical things, but I don't have the build to be submissive. I've often wondered if I could find somebody to practise upon me but it's never happened yet. Maybe in the future if I found somebody who understood my motivation it might occur.

Until then I'll try all the toys out on myself, and ideally somebody I trust, but that's as far as I will go.

I do this as well, but I accept the fact that what I feel is not what my submissive feels.

Her mind is questing for something which I dont believe (and am not overly interested in finding) I can ever find. So knowing how an item works for me is more a scientific "so this is the physical effect of said item" rather than "wow, this will cause subspace."

For me, being able to submit would require a) wanting to, b) being able to have a connection with another person strong enough to submit to them, and c) the physical trappings attendant with subspace.

Since I dont have any a), I have not met any b) I would trust to do c), Im not sure submission is possible for me.

To summarize, hitting yourself with a single tail to find out how it feels does not a submissive make.
