My dominant calls me his and is possessive of me but I don't think he would ever say he owns me, though he does claim me from time to time.

I think that this is one of those subject that calls for what ever works best for all involved. Somewhere, somehow, someone is going to disagree with another, so what ever works for you is fine.

Things change and people change. Try something out for a year and discuss it then. By then something is bound to become comfortable and acceptable.
