But when he was in Russia and spoke with President Putin (remember, English is not his first language) just before the G8, Bush looked like an imbecile. I was so embarrassed by how others must view us based on that speech. Of course, there are innumerable other reasons to dislike Bush, as well.

I got my copy of Fortunate Son by J. H. Hatfield. A book that Monkeyboy's administration tried to prevent from being published, was published in an independent press, and became a national bestseller. Cant wait to read it... Wasn't his idol, Ronald Reagan, known as the Great Uniter? Could be the name Great Divider is a sarcastic reference as well as an appropriate one. Sinergy

peterk, You know what the ironic thing is about this "war on terror", it dignifies the terrorists with the status of belligerents when in fact they are criminals. In Britain and Europe, we tend to see terrorism as a crime rather than a war and this has the advantage of portraying terrorists as completely anti-social rather than a competitor (in essence, a war is fought between two competing nations with equal moral status).

Since it became clear that Iraq disarmed around 1993 it has been rebranded as humanitarian intervention, the democratisation of Iraq and to avoid Iraq becoming a failed state. Not many people seem to know what is going on so you can take it that, in the short term, real politics is dead.

Outside of Dumbfuckistan, people in the United States see terrorism as a tactic, as opposed to a set of people in a place that war could be declared against. I would say that people who egregiously bomb the living crap out of innocent people and living things, whether it is with C4, airplanes, cruise missiles or whatever, and utilizing the tactic of terrorism to strike fear and terror into the hearts of the "enemy." I am still waiting for the White House to announce that they are suspending elections until the War On Terror is over. Just me, could be wrong, but there you go. Sinergy

Seeing how its being fought by socially retarded fools who are too blinded by their own religious faith to see how much agony they are causing, then yeah, I'd say its being fought by two opponents with equal moral status.... none.

The North Korean president is concerned with saving his own regime and he will stay within his own borders. You didn't do any better or any worse when you had your chance at the plate. You can accept that as what it is ... or just look none the wiser.

Nefertari, that's true but it was nowhere near as embarrassing as when Bill Clinton was with Yeltsin on camera and for whatever reason started laughing hysterically like a hyena. I mean what was the joke? Was Yeltsin drunk or what? I was mortified! I'm no Bush fan by any means either.
