I'm proud of you. Some idiots are known to stay even after the learn the truth. As my mom told me "Once you fall in love, that's it."

I'm glad you had the strength to leave and move on. Unfortunatly, there will always be liars and deception out there. However, there is also hope and your time will come. Sometimes, you have to eat a few bad berries to know what a good one taste like.

I'm going for my personal saying...boys are stupid hit them with rocks, if you like it grab another and do it again.[sm=paddle.gif]

What's that going to accomplish? We're to hard headed to feel rocks. Especially since they're what we have for brains.

KatyLied -> RE: played for a fool (11/1/2006 7:31:12 AM)

As stated previously, many people have been through something similar.

I went through something very similar.  I was on the receiving end of a relationship built on lies.  The first one I didn't think too much about (actually I prided myself in giving him great latitude on his "little lie"), but as they added up, I could hardly believe it.  It was my first experience with someone who lies as a way of life.  What I learned:  one bad relationship does not make you a bad person, although you may feel bad for a time.  One person's lies do not demean you, their lies demean them.  And although you may not see it at this point, you are better off without this person in your life.  I hope you can find the tools and strength you need to move on, because......being happy is the best revenge.

toservez -> RE: played for a fool (11/1/2006 7:39:08 AM)

I am sorry it did not work out, but I am happy for you that you were able to make a decision for yourself that it was not going to work for you. Many of us have been there and it is never fun.

It is unfortunate that these are relationships just like any other and they come with all the human mistakes and character flaws as well. I hope you can learn from your experience but not be jaded by it. Nothing good in life comes form being negative and quitting. I hope you take the amount of time you need to get over this and get back on the horse when you are ready.

Thanks for the support.  I am gathering my trusted friends and letting them know how very much they mean to me.  That seems like the best thing right now.

Also, I tried to take a hammer to the steel collar, but it didn't break or dent.  So I did the next best thing - threw it in the garbage.  Since he was the one who dishonored the collar he does not deserve to get it back.  Perhaps petty, but I couldn't stand to have the thing in the house, and I'll be damned before he gets in back so he can just use it collar another unsuspecting sub.

No, you had every right to do just that. One of My closest friends did just that after her collar was dishonored by her "Master" one too many times. She wouldn't allow herself to stay in that situation, and neither should you.

<adds a hug to the pile>

Well, that depends where you aim, doesn't it? *halos*

Dnomyar -> RE: played for a fool (11/1/2006 8:32:25 AM)

Fangs dont worry she is a girl and can't throw anyway.

LadyOunce -> RE: played for a fool (11/1/2006 8:46:58 AM)

Sadly this may be true. ROTC really doesn't teach one to throw rocks in this day and age.

Dang - I guess it happens to everyone at some point.  I was played for a fool.

First I discovered an unpleasant truth, but it seemed to be OK with an explanation.  But today I got the whole truth and uncovered a whole lot of lies.  So after ten months and a lot of hopes, dreams, fun, and my first collar, it's over.  I need a group hug.

I'm a tough cookie.  I'm going to take a little break from men then the hunt for Mr. Wonderful Dom will be on again.

There are no words that will shorten the time it takes your wounds to heal or remove any of the pain you're feeling. Unfortunately, you have to look at this as a learning experience. I know that sounds empty and hollow rigth now, but it's one way of dealing with what happened.

gardenbluebird -> RE: played for a fool (11/1/2006 11:26:01 AM)

Actually, I'm much better today.  This is not the first time I was fooled by a pathologicial liar.  The first time it happened to me many years ago the consequences were much more dire.  Lots and lots of damange occurred to my life in that time frame and it took me years to recover.

This time around it's not so bad.  The impact on my life is truly minimal.  I have a loving family and enough strength of character that in the grand scheme of things this is only a pothole in the road of life.

Experience does not make one immune to deception, but it does help one understand how to deal with it.  My former has now been renamed "the pitiful creature" because he truly is.  He will never know the meaning of love and that is a sad thing indeed.  He is worthy of only my pity and nothing else.   Knowing that makes things much much easier.

DomintheSun -> RE: played for a fool (11/1/2006 4:05:38 PM)

Its a shame that these things have to happen and no matter what anyone says it hurts and will for a while but time is truly a great healer and you come out of this stronger and wiser.
