I am currently reading Dark Moon Rising the Ordeal Path by Raven Kaldera. It is a book aboute Pagan BDSM, using BDSM in pagen ritual as well as using a D/s rlationship as a basis for spiritual development. For example since human kind can be seen as the slaves of the Gods, and since the priest or priestess can be seen as the slave of the Gods the slave of the prist would be serving the Gods by his or her service.

Have anyone read this exelent book or do anone pracitce BDSM in a spiritual way?

Raven is a very awesome person and one of the few people in the scene who have managed to make a communal life work for any extended period of time.

I too practice my own privet spirituality that is heavily mixed with BDSM themes.  I do not force my belifes on my subs, but when asked to explain it to them most of them in the past have taken the ideas in and started to follow them.  It brings a whole new, much deeper quality to any sort of BDSM interactions and makes me feel very aware that everyday day I am walking in the footsteps of the Blessed Ones.

Yes (have read it, and have communed with Raven, his boy and the family at FSA events) and yes, I incorporate my neopagan practices into many of my scenes.

Yes, currently reading that book...is very interesting...I have studied and practised sex magick/mysticism for many years and find that bdsm for me is an amazing mode to explore this stuff with...

i adore the book, and it is the only one i have been able to find on magick bdsm, Don Kreig have a sort section aboute it in his Modern Sex Magick, but that section is mostly aboute using pain to reatch gnosis and little aboute the dynamic in itself.

in all seriousness, yes my practice of spirituality and my practice of bdsm are very inter wined
 
i use a mediative state of of preparation before play
i use rituals such as burning sage, chanting, and creating sacred space
i open to any divination that might come through
my hands get hot from Rieki and i lay them on parts in need of healing
i play with breath and balance, not breath play, which is different, but more tantra style of exchanging breath and harmonizing breath
and i tune into the connection and allow that connection to nourish us both.[:)]

I'm glad to hear that this book is getting good reviews within the BDSM community.  I've been wondering about it, since I am also Pagan and into lifestyle.  I'll definately have to check it out now.

i recomend the book, it is wery interesting and for once a book that dont waste space whit all the beginner info aboute Pagan pracsis, i am all for books for beginners but not all books need to have a what is magic and what is pagan sections, it is a good book that is to the point and quite nice and it have beautiful pictures.

One thing i just got into my head, somone mentiond Reiki, what aboute creating an Energy collar, an invisible band that is sort of burned into the Energy field of the the salve, that might be nice.

I've followed Asatru for the last twenty years, most of that time with Odin as my personal God. But the last year or so, Freyja has come more to the fore. Freyja is a fully rounded "person" like Odin (whom I have got to know very well), and I find Her fascinating for all of Her character, but what has interested me most I suppose is Her sexuality, and the way She uses that, not only in Her magic and wisdom, but also to get what She wants! I see Her, I suppose, as the natural Norse Goddess of sexuality, including bdsm, but the main problem I find is that there are so few remaining sources, concerning Freyja and especially few concerning anything to do with sexuality, (damned Christian monks), that it is difficult to progress.

Does anyone here have any ideas about sources concerning Frejya, apart from the Edda and the usual please?

Actualy in Norway we have mutch information concerning our old phantheon as mutch was written down in runes and later in books, if you wish you can PM me and i can see what information i can dig up for you.

What i find fasinating aboute Raven`s book is the section aboute spiritual Master slave relationships, this is far from a new idea, even in the bible there are sections that say that by serving ones Master one serve God, like a Spiritual Hieraki, if the Master serves the Gods and is slave to them, the sub serves the Gods by serving his or her Master, that is a beautiful idea.

Knowing my own energy work, I'd be hesitant to place one field of protective energy around the throat chakra.  I'd consider doing a protective sphere around the individual if I felt it necessary...and do that at times during play, especially in public.  Most of the individuals who I engage with who would have any awareness or appreciation for this are capable of doing this energy work and do already, making that protective sphere as a matter of protecting Mistress' property....

Yes Yes and YES Raven is an awsum person. I practice different types of tantric sex and have been developing a ritual/practice specificaly for people who want to work a spiritual approach into BDSM.

Freya was a beautiful Vanir Norse goddess of love, magic, and divination, who was called upon for help in matters of of love. Freya was the daughter of the god Njord, and the sister of Freyr. Her husband was the god Od (possibly Odin) and her hall Sessrumnir was where half the slain warriors went (the others went to Valhalla, the hall where Odin presided).

The Vanir were the Norse nature and fertility gods who lived in Vanaheim, in Asgard. They were at war with the warrior Aesir gods until they reached a treaty and exchanged hostages. The Vanir sent to Asgard, where the Aesir lived, Njord, god of winds, sea, and fire, and his children Freya and Freyr, god of sun, rain, and patron of bountiful harvests. Freya was sister to Freyr, and daughter of an older ocean God, Njord. Freya was a Goddess of love, fertility, sexuality, magick, wealth, the moon and luck. In our modern calendar, Friday is named for her. She was a popular and well-loved Goddess among the Nordic people. Though a love Goddess, she was still courageous on the battlefield. Freya was associated with fertility, but that role was taken up more strongly by Frigga.  She ruled over all cats, and she rode in a chariot pulled by two huge cats, named Bygul and Trygul. i was not realy thinking a protective band, more like collar that went deeper then just the physical, but yes the danger is that one would constrickt the troath chakra and by that distrupting creativity and the entire Energy system, but a proper thecqniuqe that avoided such trubbles should be possible. Protection is indeed rather nice to do in spheres, and the ones i like to use involves creating protective spheres around myself or those i want to protect.

i wonder if charming the collar as a protection device might work. i have charged necklaces for those i love and want to protect when they aren't near me.
