dollparts85 -> Bra sizing? (with pics) (10/27/2006 8:14:17 AM)

I was trying to figure out my proper bra size...and this chart says to measure under the breast...and then add 5 inches for the band size...and then measure around the breast...and the number of inches greater determines the cup size...I'm 45 inches under...and 50 around...according to them I'm a 50AA? That doesn't make sense! My boobs are huge...

I'm assuming its okay to post nudies here...forgive me if it isn't...but see...theres no way I'm a AA cup?!

...i am a professional fashion creator...according to my 'guesstamations'...you are probably an 'EE' to 'FF' cup size...depending on the brand of bra you are looking at...

dollparts85 -> RE: Bra sizing? (with pics) (10/27/2006 8:21:56 AM)

that makes more sense...I usually buy 48ddd...but I've lost some weight and a couple inches off my chest....

...smiles...if you are anything like me...you do not lose in cup size...more than likely you lose through the 'back'...which is a very good thing...

It was my understanding that for every inch of difference in the two measurements, it means a cup size.

If you go to a really good quality clothing store, they will size you and help you find what's right for you.

Hi Doll ~

I was having problems with my bras not fitting properly so I went to get sized.  I went to Lane Bryant and found out that the DD I was wearing was way off and that I ought to be wearing an F.  They special-ordered bras in my size and they were shipped right to me.  I am thrilled to say that the "girlies" stay snugly and firmly in place with no spill-over.  The comfort level is beyond words once you get the correct size.

There are a few lingerie botique shops that will size you correctly.  Lane bryant does it, but only if you get a good measurer.  The place I went to measured me, brought in bras, had me try them on, then kept bringing in bras until I got one that fit correctly.  I am weirdly shaped because of my rolls, so it took actual bra trying on to fit me, rather than just measuring.

That's my understanding, too.

Another thing to consider however, unless the breasts are completely perky and sticking straight out, a measurement without the bra holding them up is not always going to be a true measurement. I am not trying to be cruel and say you have flat saggy breasts, that is not the case. You have large breasts that have done the same thing all large breasts do sooner or later, head south. As others have said, getting a professional to help you find your proper size is the key. They know what they are doing and can take the shape of your breasts into consideration. We are not all perky hard plastic Barbie dolls.

i was once a 44ddd and had the hardest time finding a bra to fit me nice and snug...thankfully i'm down to a 42 d and much easier time now-- I agree, Lane Bryant has some nice selections in bras.[:)]

Allow me to explain to you how men determine cup size.  (And don't ask me what all that other shit is...because it makes no fucking sense whatsoever).

First of all, cup size means nothing to men...neither does all that other shit.

The reason why none of this means anything to men is very simple:  We don't understand why none of your shirts, pants, shoes and anything else doesn't match ours.

With that said...you confuse the living fuck out of us.

Knowing that, I'd say it's fairly clear that you all enjoy the fact that your sizes confuses the fuck out of us.

Now, why exactly is that?

Think about it;  Your waist is measured similarly to ours.  If your pants require 36 inches to get a pair of jeans around...that means...you're a 36 inch waist.

(Seems fairly simple to me {and anyone else with a rational mind}).

However, that's not actually true, now is it?

(No).

Then there's cup size.

I'm not even going to attempt to go there because there's about 7 katrillion permutations on that which no level of college math can possibly comprehend.

Just be damn thankful our secretaries remember to ask us "how much should I spend on this one?"....

(And just be aware...every damn one of us has a dart board....we aim, shoot, and multiply by three and hope by God that we got it right).

(So there).

After two little people, my bosomage is hardly perky.  They do not measure you without support.  They measure you around the chest, and then have you hoist your ta-tas up to the proper place via your bra straps that you are wearing.  They then measure you at the fullest part.  That gives the proper cup size.  The difference between the fullest part of the bust and the band/chest determines cup size...  an inch = a cup size.  If you go to Lane Bryant, ask for someone who is good at sizing for bras.  The gal who did mine was spot on.  You'll be amazed at how "off" your current bra size might be.  I sure was.

SirKenin -> RE: Bra sizing? (with pics) (10/27/2006 8:27:41 PM)

lol.  Do not measure them when they are sagging, that is for sure.  That will not give you an accurate measurement at all, although according to your measurement, you would be a DD or an E, depending on the make of the bra.  You really should put a bra on first, then measure.  If you want a full support bra, DD should be fine.  If you want a demi, or a low cut, you would want a size bigger so you do not spill out all over the place..  [8D]

Try the following link:

http://www.additionelle.com/ae.cfm

Click on fashion, then choose AE lingerie, then click "fit a bra" in the menu bar.  That will help you out.

My wife insists on getting the credit for this.  I asked her for help to give you the proper info.  She is a 40 DD herself and knows all about having bra issues.  I do not know what her problem is, though.  I think My hands work just fine.

You definitely do lose cup size when you lose weight.  I can think of more than one person who is a living example of this..

Edit:  By the way,  I have the photos as living proof (of course.  lol), but I refuse to post them simply to protect them..  I am sure you can appreciate that.  However, I mention this just so that you do not get the impression that I am speaking without knowing the facts.

DiurnalVampire -> RE: Bra sizing? (with pics) (10/27/2006 8:37:59 PM)

Ive been measured 4 times in 4 different stores and gotten 4 different numbers. Funny thing is, it was an experiment and all done on the same day, so I am farly sure I didnt lose enough weight running from store to store to impact much.
The best measure I got was at Lane Bryant.  The worse was Victoria Secrets (which doesnt have anything that would even remotely fit me anyway)
I have no desire to divulge my size (since I plan on losing another few inches before I settle on a comfy bra) however  Id run with the consensus.  Lane Bryant is the best fitters.
