This thread has more bullshit in it than your average cow pen.

If a dominant can't understand a submissive, uh what the hell is he then? If I can't get inside a woman's head, then we aren't right for each other.

I can mentor a submissive just fine, I can teach her all sorts of things and make her much more wise than when we met. I don't recommend that submissives seek dominants as mentors however because of the whole issue with power being the aphrodisiac we all seek.

The whole "any good dominant started out/did/does/whatever as a submissive is a pile of horseshit. A good dominant is good because he is good, regardless of WHY he is good.

The reason I would recommend to MOST people they seek out a submissive to learn from is because they generally are not as full of shit and as egotistical as us asshole male dominants, not because of some mystical reason, but because of a cynical reason.

I began as a sub to a wonderful mistress too long ago to tell...
As we progressed in our relationship, she became my mentor... how this happens? unknown... I do know that my experience with her was what I desired and where I am now in my life, as a Dom, is what I acheived...

I can empathize with a sub because I have been a sub... I dont think it is as black and white as you think.
In my opinion a Dom can mentor a sub... I agree that D/s are totally different... what motivates each is different. Each has different goals, desires and so on....
I can sympathize with anyone on anything.... but to empathize with someone (a sub) for example... you have to have been there... I would feel comfortable mentoring a sub... as a Dom.
