Just to let you know what white ribbons mean this coming week. I am for free speech, and am posting this only so as to inform you as to what "they" are up to. it rather cheapens the yellow and pink ribbons IMO. ===================================== Don’t forget, the annual White Ribbon Against Pornography Week begins this Sunday, October 29, and runs through Sunday, November 5. www.moralityinmedia.org

It does in fact cheapen the yellow and pink ribbons, but it is not the first, second or last to do it and to a certain effect all standard shows of support can be looked at with a cautious eye. I often wonder how many people with ribbons or flags blastered on their car have done anything like given actual time/cash or donate blood to help/support other people. Not to be totally flippant about a topic that many women do have issues with, but is there a color of a ribbon that is supporting pornography. :) Cannot wait for the election to be over with so the morality police will stop being public hyprocrits.

I did not about this, thanks, and if I see one I will know what it means and tell the people sporting them that I LOVE LOVE LOVE porn, and ask them if I should get a ribbon to express that view (I do not really watch porn, but I do support others rights to, and I am just evil anyways)

i think i seen just one last year. the last campaigne. an affirming gaze -ive done with otehr ribbons. but knowing what this is i wont give them teh pleasure of an afirming glance. i might shake my head no. [with a partial sneer]

If electricity comes from electrons does morality come from morons? WTF is this all about? White ribbons against pornography? Funny, the people who claim that they are for Free Speech but, as long as "your" Free Speech agrees with "their" Free Speach! That's why I detest "Political Correctness" so much!

That's what you call irony - LOL Edited: I'd like to add that I don't like any of the ribbons and don't display them. It is just like you said that the are becoming meaningless and irrelevant as they come up with a new ribbon every week. (Is the plaid ribbon for golfers?) I actually research which charities give money too - you'd be surprised at the actual percentage of money that goes to the cause as opposed to the percentage that goes to the charity organization - it's very sad in some cases

It is becoming more apparent that alot of the fringe groups on both sides think Freedom of Speech is only permitting speech that supports their interests and either preventing or squashing speech they are opposed to. It's basically election year hype - something to look forward to every 2 years. {bummer}
