Im still hurting from 2 weeks ago. I really thought if the defense could just contain him then we had a chance at winning too. I am a reformed optimist. Now I just want revenge

heh ... happy to have you on board. Grab a towel :)

The good news is (for me at least), and I can't quite believe this, that the BBC are going to be covering the Superbowl, live! So no hunting for web portals and suchlike, plus I'll get the words of whatever experts they've rounded up instead of commercials every 5 seconds. Superb!

The bad news is that every single pundit seems to think the Steelers are going to get roundly hammered. Even the BBC's own correspondent says "no chance".

Still, at least we got there, and while there's life there's hope :)

So Maurkice Pouncey is gonna miss the Super Bowl with an ankle sprain.  A freaking ankle sprain.

Boy he must really be some kind of pussy.

On a serious note,  that is a real blow to the Squeelers,

Oh,  uhmmm,  I meant Steelers,  yeah that was it.

Yeah, that was announced yesterday :(

It's not looking good. But there's always hope.

PS: You know I wasn’t one of those putting the boot on Cutler, right? Quite the reverse.

No it was just a general post in the spirit of the nonsense that was spouted about a certain knee.

Ah right, fine then!

I wasn't getting uppity, I just didn't want to be associated with that sort of brain dead twat :)

Pouncey also has a broken ankle, but admittedly it is the high ankle sprain that is the issue.  I don't think he will be crucified a la Cutler.

Does that mean he would have played if it had "just" been a broken ankle?!

Yes, Tomlin pretty much said that a lot of people have bone floating around.  I guess it's easier to play with a broken ankle than a high ankle sprain.

Sources told the Post-Gazette that, while there is a broken bone, damage to the ankle ligaments are the major stumbling block.

Actually I could see that as being true - I've played (rugby) with broken fingers and it was just unpleasant (with taping/strapping). The same with a torn hamstring, sprain or other muscle tear would be next to impossible.

He's a pussy.  What's a few ripped ligaments?  He was seen walking after all.

I was looking for the post about how one would have to be dragged off and only kept out of the game if dead.  How they had their legs sheered at the knees and worked on the bloody stumps for 6 months at the sum of $2 an hour.

Running out of time to make a prediction. I predict PITT will win. I can't remember a SB like this one where it seems like such a toss up.

It's coming back home...
And it's called the Lombardi Trophy for a reason.

That's all I'm saying on that, aside from, it's going to be an awesome game. :)

Amazing. To pass the time and quell my nerves, I popped in the tape of Super Bowl 31 tonight. The game just ended, and at the very moment i read your post, Paul Tagliabue was saying, "It's time for the Lombardi Trophy to go home to Lambeau Field." I felt as though I was reading in  stereo.

Hiya Panda :) You've been quiet on this topic til now ... what's your predicted score-line?

I’m going to let the coffee soak in, then see what Madden 2008 has to say ... totally unscientific, of course, but it’s just a bit of fun ...

Having come down with a terrible bout of Man-Flu, I've almost lost my voice and can hardly breathe, but I'll still be watching tonight, that's for sure :)

Go Steelers!
