Someone please tell Favre to go home and stay. It was just like the Packers/Giants NFC Championship game. During the 4th he just looked old and threw a pick at the end. The Saints in the Super Bowl I still don't believe it. I had to check this morning just to make sure I didn't dream it all. My Dad would have loved it. I wished I was back home in South Louisiana last night for the celebration.

He looked old and threw an ill advised pic at the end. The Vikings didn't do this to have a great year, they did it because they thought (not wisely) that Favre could deliver a Super Bowl win. So he comes back next year, don't for a moment think it will be a repeat of this one. Remember Rich Gannon? Led the Raiders to the Super Bowl and was league MVP that year. He tanked badly the next year. When he was asked about it he says it was over just that fast. He couldn't recover fast enough at that age and when the next season started he was sill trying to recover physically from the last one. There were a couple of hits in the Cowboys game from the week before that Favre still hadn't recovered from. The Vikings are really just setting themselves up for a bigger disappointment. They are going to be right back where they were. A rather young talented team floundering with no quarterback.

How can anyone diss Favre after a game, season and career like that ? The guy plays because he loves to, he sacrifices his body game after game and plays with more heart than all but a few have over the years. NO won for a number of reasons. Not the least of which being because they went after Favre and punished his body. Hats off to him. Colts will beat NO and do it in second half of the SB.

Well its not like Favre had a cake walk of a game. His offensive line didn't protect him at all, he endured a few late hits and he is 40 years old. Any quarterback regardless of age would have been worn after that. The Vikings barely touched Brees until the 4th quarter. I'm expecting the Colts to blow the Saints away though in two weeks. With all the turnovers and potential turnovers the Vikings had and yet the game still went into overtime...and that was only because Favre threw that late trademark interception, New Orleans should be ashamed of the way they played. It seems fitting the last throw of Favre's career was indeed a horrendous pick like that :p

I missed it. Favre sends another season to bed on an interception? [:D] Sweet! So we have a Superbowl consisting of the two best regular season teams. Should be nice.

I am a Packer fan and kind of would enjoyed watching favre get his head knocked off. However, I am also a football fan and have some knowledge of the game. Which brings me back to Favres last interception. The previous play was a five yard penalty for having twelve guys in the huddle...Big difference between a fifty one and a fifty six yard field goal....Not favre's fault...The interception was rather meaningless at that stage of the game. Longwell would have been forced to have attempted a fifty six yard field goal, which would have been the longest of his career. The Vikings were obviously the better team on the field. However, a series of fumbles ended what should have been a rather easy win for the Vikes. Those who blame favre for the vikings loss do not understand the game.

I don't think he would have made it to the sideline - 93 (i think, squinting to see the number) would have caught up to him on that injured ankle and he just would have gotten hit again. Besides, if he had run out then on the next play they would have had to go for a TD because there wouldn't have been time to make the necessary yards and still go for the FG (in which case the game could be blamed on him for not throwing the ball on this 3rd down.) The Vikings turned the ball over 5 times and the Saints still had to go to OT to win? Sheesh. One pick by Favre negates a whole season of excellent play. Only 7 picks in the regular season. He looks old because he is old but he gets up every time after every hit. Didn't miss a series. The Vikings would not have been in the NFC Championship game this year without him. I hope SB44 is as close as the last two have been. At first I really was apathetic about both the Colts and the Saints. Last night I thought it might be nice to see the Saints win it all since they never have. 21 seasons before they had a winning season. I did not realize that until Joe or Troy mentioned it last night. Now I think I'll pull for the Colts. Thanks for helping me with my indecision.

Yes the Vikings had 5 turnovers, and Favre had his fingers in three of them, Two pics, the last one was vintage bone head Favre, and the fumble that he and Adrian Peterson screwed up. They both screwed that one, Peterson by not opening his arms wide enough, and Farve who put it up in his chest instead of his gut. The Vikings screwed up. They bet everything on winning the Super Bowl right now with Favre. They didn't get the Super Bowl and still have no quarterback. The worst thing the Vikings did was this dance with Favre rather than finding a quarterback they could work with. One who would be with this group of players they have for the next 5,6,7 years. It'll be even worse if they do this again next year.

Russ Grimm and Dick LeBeau, very happy for these talented men. And also the others who are being inducted. But especially for LeBeau who was a talented player and one of the premier defensive coaching talents ever to grace the NFL.

Absolutely. LeBeau made it on his playing career, but could have done so on his coaching one too. Grimm was the anchor for those Hogs lines. The only one I don't agree with was Floyd Little. He was a fine RB, but not a HoFer, to me.
