BKSir -> RE: NFL Sob (or Brag) Thread (1/17/2010 1:27:44 PM)

[:D]  Hahahahaha!  yep, such a "big macho straight guys sport".  More ass swatting by half-naked, sweaty, burly guys in the Vikes locker room than at ANY play party I've EVER seen!  Oh, the irony.

Vikings at Saints next week...  I'm looking at Vikes by 6... I hope...  I don't know...  Maybe Saints by 6...  It's either going to be an insane shootout or end up being won 2 or 3 - 0.  Either way, I'm thinking it's going to be one hell of a game.  Okay...  Fine.  I'll say it.  I actually think the Saints are going to win, but I'm still cheering for that big ol' stump jumper in purple.

Your thoughts?

flcouple2009 -> RE: NFL Sob (or Brag) Thread (1/17/2010 1:30:03 PM)

I'll be cheering for the Saints as I always do unless they play the Cowboys.  I just wish my Dad was still alive to enjoy it.

BKSir -> RE: NFL Sob (or Brag) Thread (1/17/2010 1:34:15 PM)

also... HELP!   I can't decide whether to switch up my fantasy players for the NY/SD game.  So far I've got Dustin Keller and Jay Feeley, but...  I think NY is going to get their butts kicked.  Buuuut...  If anyone is going to make the big difference in the game and surprise san diego and me, it's those two.  Damn...  Think I'll just hold onto them, I already earned a ton of points off of the saints and the vikings games this weekend.  :)

EDIT:  Well, game on...  too late to change now.  Let's hope they do well. :)

And as I type this, I just watched that last touchdown, just plain insulting the cowboys now, and I LOOOOVE it!

I loved watching crybaby Keith Brooking talking smack to Vikings sideline after that last touchdown.

LOL, awww, poor Brooking.  Gotta agree with Jimmy Johnson (damn I feel dirty saying that) about this though...  If you don't like it, then pull up your big girl panties and do your job better.  He's supposed to be keeping the other team from making touchdowns.  No sense getting mad at the hammer if you're the one who hits yourself in the thumb with it. ;)

Sentimentally I'd like to see the Vikings go all the way. I didn't care for Favre with the Packers and didn't really pay attention to him with the Jets last year but this year for some reason he has become my sentimental favorite. Or should that be Favre-orite? This is all now that the Steeler's season is over. I really am apathetic about the Saints. They have never interested me or disinterested me. If they beat the Vikes I'll root for their opponent in the SB simply because I couldn't care less about them.

I'd love to see the Jets defeat the Chargers today but I don't give them a snowball's chance of defeating the Colts and then defeating whoever the NFC sends to the dance. Having said that, if the Chargers win today I'll root for them next week. But not if they play Favre and the Vikes in the SB.

I hope the second game today is more interesting to watch than the first.

LaTigresse -> RE: NFL Sob (or Brag) Thread (1/17/2010 1:57:42 PM)

I just have to say..................YEAHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH VIKINGSSSSSS!!!!!!!!!!

I will cheer for ANY team that is playing the Cowboys!

That's the beautiful thing about the game though.  You just never ever know.  I mean, a couple years back, look at the Giants.  Out of nowhere!  Oh, they're out in the first round, having to play at Dallas.  No brainer.  What?  They won? O.o  Uh... okay.  Well, they have to go up and play Green Bay against Favre at Lambeau.  Not a chance in he..... WUH!? O.O  No way!  They won!?  Pfft, fine, they'll get their butts kicked in the superbowl against the undefeated Pats.  It'll be a total blowout and... You've GOT to be shittin' me!

I'm really hoping for Vikings v. Colts.  Just to see the two best QB's in the game, possibly ever, playing eachother in the big one.

As far as the AFC goes though, I'm thinking you're right about the Chargers, but, refer to my earlier thoughts about the Giants a couple years back.  Right now, it's anybody's guess I think, as far as who is going where.  It's going to be an awesome post season from here on out, that's the only place I'm putting my money.

I couldn't agree more!  I even caught myself cheering for the Cardinals...  I felt sick and just turned off the TV at that point. ;)

For the Cowboys haters:

[image]http://pix.motivatedphotos.com/2008/9/30/633583948501966593-kissmyass.jpg[/image]

The Vikes took it to them, and anyone doubting Favre's arm strength, after that bomb to Rice, may want to rethink.

I want the Saints to win it all now, I can't muster much lurve for any of the remaining teams. The Jets winning would be ok, just to see New York get all spazzy over it.

BKSir -> RE: NFL Sob (or Brag) Thread (1/17/2010 2:18:28 PM)

Awwww, we still love you Level.  ;)  But yeah, like I said, love him or hate him, either way, still gotta give credit where credit's due.

Also, Oh look!  Squab!  Yum!

BK, I'm going to look on the bright side; with Dallas out, there's no chance of my heart being broken if they were to lose the SB. Yeah, that's it. [:D]

Quite so sir.  Kind of like how I viewed the Green Bay loss.

Damn I love the ignore button.

We wouldn't know it from your body of work in the forums.

Amazing. At least you are consistent Loki, or Smith, or whatever reincarnation you are. This is a football thread, and you get his vile, evil and rude? You must be a real party in person.

Don't stress over him, he pulled this bullshit for pages in a thread on feminism recently, but at least that made a bit more sense than getting whacked out angry in a freaking football thread. Chill. Breathe. Medicate. Whatever it takes, because this level of anger can't be healthy.

flcouple2009 -> RE: NFL Sob (or Brag) Thread (1/17/2010 3:01:23 PM)

2 weeks of playing an over rated Philly team didn't help anything.

If the Vikings won I guess I'll have to break down and pull for the AFC team.  I can happily pull for Archie's son or Norv Turner.  That's either a Cowboy's or Saint's connection.

flcouple2009 -> RE: NFL Sob (or Brag) Thread (1/17/2010 4:00:50 PM)

wow, the jets are intent on this being a game

BKSir -> RE: NFL Sob (or Brag) Thread (1/17/2010 4:11:36 PM)

Well well well... looks like we got us selves a game goin' on over in San Diego. :)

maybemaybenot -> RE: NFL Sob (or Brag) Thread (1/17/2010 4:17:22 PM)

((((( Level ))))) I had to call my Brother in law and console him on the Dallas loss too. I'm with you, my friend: now pulling for Saints to take it all.

And laughing my butt off that Indy may have to face the Jets. The practically gave them a free ticket to the playoffs and should the Jets go on to win the AFC, I'm betting on riots in the streets of Indy. Not really, but their fan base will go nuts.

PS: Love the pic

flcouple2009 -> RE: NFL Sob (or Brag) Thread (1/17/2010 4:24:48 PM)

Damn, Did the Jets just punch their ticket to the Championship game with that run?

And your right.  How funny is it that the Colts could be facing the Jets after the Jets only got in because the Colts laid down for the final games.

Just saw this:

quote:

GREENWOOD, S.C. (AP)—Gaines Adams(notes), an All-American defensive end at Clemson whose career never blossomed in the NFL with Chicago and Tampa Bay, died Sunday after going into cardiac arrest. He was 26.
