Dare I say it?

Romo's a choker?

No, the whole fucking team is. Romo didn't lose the game, Davis taking a cheap shot on Strahan did, and Crayton dropping a first down pass that my dead grandmother could catch did, and so on.

I know.  The fans were frustrated and the santa was skinny!  I think it's a funny story, it's one of my favorite NFL stories.

I know how that works. I know exactly. But at least that was a real nailbiter, right up until the very end. Your guys never gave up.

Yep, there's that.

Anyway, hopefully the Packers will slaughter the Giants next week, as Katy said.

Those grapes were sour anyway. You and me, we're the lucky ones. Next weekend we'll be free to get some worthwhile things accomplished - we won't feel compelled to sit around screaming at a frickin' idiot box.

I agree that it would be great to see the Pack in the super Bowl.  I'm still hoping for a Pats lose.

T.O. cried during the post-game press conference.  Said crying, "this is my team; this is my quarterback..."

Have to say I was rooting for the Giants, especially after Caitlyn came around talking her own smack. I picked DAL to lose b/c I thought Eli would outplay Romo.

Level, DAL looks to have a bright future: everyone's young and on the rise.

Its hard to believe Peyton Manning's only won one Super Bowl. Just show's you how tough it is.

After watching the games this weekend, I'd have to rate Tom Brady ahead of Manning.

Now I think the Packers should have a field day. Domiguy must be floating on air --- wonder if he can score some SUPER BOWL tickets.

Brady's teammates didn't put quite as much pressure on him by tipping and dropping balls.  Harrison's fumble was a killer, and the goal-line interception off Keith's fingers wasn't a great strategy either.  The second one wasn't such a great pass though.

Also, I gotta say this: Dungy is an outstanding coach, probably a Hall of Fame coach, and a first-rate talent guy, but he's just not a great game-planner.  The Colts' gameplan today wasn't very innovative--neither on offense and on defense, for that matter.

jesus, what a weekend! they should just cancel the championship round and let GB and NE start prepping for the super bowl. i was disappointed that indy lost, because they would've given NE a better game than the Chargers will, but seeing the Cowgirls fold made everything ok.

JAX played a nearly perfect game, albeit the defense was too porous. Randy Moss seemed to just hang around and play the decoy to such great effect that everyone else was open and Maroney had abundant running room.

I felt Gerrard represented himself well.

Brady's bomb off a busted screen pass was the nail the coffin.

agreed. if they played the pats 10 times i'm not sure if they could've come up with a better gameplan or a better effort.

btw, I think that was easily NE's most impressive offensive performance of the year. what i really loved is that - like, jax knew their only chance to win was to force NE to play 'their' game, and they succeeded at that. except NE beat them at their own game. super patient and efficient, not making mistakes but taking chances when the opportunities were there. defensively they weren't very good, BUT in the second half they did get jax into some third and longs and held them to field goals on some drives, which jax couldn't do to them, so that ended up being a pretty crucial difference.

My only problem with NE's offensive performance v. JAX was that the JAX defensive game plan was semi-prevent in nature. As I saw it, they took Moss out of the game and gave NE a massive cushion --- hence Brady's eye popping completion ratio and Maroney's 5.5 yd per carry average.

So to me, NE merely took JAX's voluntary giveaway. On the other hand, Jax generated no TOs and only one sack. As the TV studio pointed out, JAX elected to die by slow death --- and in respectable fashion. So far this year, its all been about "pick your poison" when playing NE.

On the flip side, SD clogged the passing lanes better, played better redzone defense and sealed off the run. IND amassed a ton of yds but had scant points to show for it in the end.

Its looking like Shawn Merriman was the best player selected in the first round of his draft year (2005), and he was selected #13.

The top ten amounted to a rather sad lot: Alex Smith, Ronnie Brown, Braylon Edwards (he's good), Cedric Bension, Cadillac Williams, Pacman Jones, Troy Williamson, Antrei Rolle, Carlos Rodgers, and Mike Williams.

Hey Level, welcome to the offseason with the rest of us eliminated from contention.

Here in BALTO, there is speculation that Jason Garret is the top guy on the Raven's wish list.

My question to you is: do you think he'll make a good head coach?

If I had to choose BALTO's coach at this point, I would promote Rex Ryan. From what I've seen, BALTO still has a better defense than anyone I've seen in the playoffs thus far. Also, last year, BAL held IND to five FGs in its playoff loss to them. To me, he's done and extraordinary job.

It sure was sweet to see the Bolts beat the Colts in Indy, especially after the amazingly classy performance by the hometown crowd who booed the 14 year old girl who won her age division in the Punt, Pass and Kick competition because the was wearing a Patriots jersey.

You stay classy, Indianapolis!

I wonder if the NE faithful would have cheered a contestant in a COLTS jersey?

It still riles me to see the blue and white horseshoes in IND. I give Modell credit for setting the precedent of leaving a team's legacy (the Browns) behind in the city that built it.

Of course.  Now, if they were wearing a Jets' jersey...

Talking smack is the only thing NFL football is good for.

I feel pretty bad for Tono Romo, because his receivers dropped two touchdowns, he had no time to throw in the second half, and even with that, the pass before the last interception was a perfect, game winning, touchdown throw, and the receiver just stopped running.

I'm ok with Tony and Jason going to Mexico on vacation, but Crayton & Reeves spending ten straight days on a bender in strip clubs, was clearly a problem.

Yeah, the SD defense really showed up. I think the key was that they had some success stopping the run with 7-man fronts, and generally dominated both lines of scrimmage.

Ronnie Brown and Pacman are both tremendously gifted players, when they're actually able to play. Also, you forgot about Demarcus Ware! Heath Miller and Marlin Jackson are good players too.
