Okay, Marion Barber is a badass for that one run LOL

Level -> RE: NFL Sob (or Brag) Thread (10/14/2007 4:36:51 PM)

Well, under 4 minutes left, if Dallas comes back, it'll be as miracleous as last week [:)]

LaMistressa -> RE: NFL Sob (or Brag) Thread (10/14/2007 5:11:42 PM)

Bucs = win

USF = ranked #2 in the nation

Me= pretty damned pleased!

<< hugs >> Level.
And jumps around at the same time. Good game, friend. Tough loss.
Barber is a badass, I can't figure out why they don't start him regularly. He is a play maker.
We were playing a bit sloppy defensively the first half and I think 1/2 time adjustments were the key.
That play in the endzone when Jones broke 4  or 5 tackles was unbelievable. I was prepared for a repeat of your Sunday night magic. The Stallworth TD was the mental turning point IMO.

Ah, that flubbed Seattle punt was great.

And mbmbn, who the heck is Wes Welker?  He's good.  I swear I've never noticed him before.

OMG, Katy ! He played for Miami last year and I remember our two games against them saying " who the hell is that Welker, he's unstoppable ". He was their primary punt returner and the field position he gave them all year was unbelievable. < the games I saw. > When I heard he was a FA this year, my sister and I were
* dreaming * of getting him. Didn't think it would happen, figured Miami would tag him, if not extend his contract. I have said all season, he will be more of an impact than Moss. The guy is a freak.

DALLAS (AP) -- Former Dallas Cowboys running back Ron Springs has been hospitalized in a coma, more than seven months after receiving a kidney donated by ex-teammate Everson Walls.

The Washington Redskins said Tuesday that cornerback Shawn Springs, son of the 50-year-old Springs, has left the team to be with his father.

"(Shawn) has flown down there -- it's a very tough time for them because I think it's very, very serious," Redskins coach Joe Gibbs said.

I am so dissapointed in Dallas as of last Sunday! I only got to watch the first half of the game due to having to go to work but ... IT SUCKED! They should have handled themselves much better than that....... ugh....

KatyLied -> RE: NFL Sob (or Brag) Thread (10/17/2007 9:56:00 AM)

There seems to be a lot of injury at key positions this season.  I didn't follow the Cardinals game and read today that Kurt Warner is out.

That story is right up their with Picolo/Sayers. I remember watching the two of them when the found out they were a match and how touching it was. What a heartwarming story.
Sadly, I think the outcome is going to be the same as it was for Brian Picolo. It seems a little too late for acute organ rejection and a bit too early for chronic organ rejection, so I am thinking there must be other things going on. Very sad.

October 17, 2007 -- ERIC Mangini finds him self at the first serious crossroads of his NFL head-coaching career.
His Jets are 1-5. Chances of recovering from this hole and making the playoffs are almost non-existent. One team in NFL history has started a season 1-5 and made the playoffs, and that occurred 38 years ago.
The shine has dulled from Mangini's ascent from young and unproven first-time head coach to Mangenious after making the Jets the surprise of the NFL last season with a 10-6 record and a playoff berth.

Yeah, I imagine the coma is from the diabetes.... he admits to having ignored the disease for several years, and it tore him up.

Harrington benched; Leftwich in.
Supposedly for the rest of the season.

Harrington really didn't do too badly. That team just sucks.

PITTSBURGH - The bye week allowed the Pittsburgh Steelers’ three injured stars to get healthy.

Wide receivers Hines Ward and Santonio Holmes and safety Troy Polamalu all will return for Sunday’s game against the Denver Broncos, Steelers coach Mike Tomlin said Wednesday.

Ward, who caught nine passes for 108 yards in Pittsburgh’s first three games, sat out the last two contests with a knee injury.

I imagine they'll crush Denver. I can't believe I picked the Broncos as a potential SB team........[>:]
