I can only speak for the UK, but we are not using a live jab, so why is the rest of the world still using one?

The injection is killed; the nasal spray is live.

Never had one, most likely never will.   I have issues with taking meds in any form.

Hello A/all,

I tend to be very dubious about Big Pharma as well, but the reason I do not get a flu shot is that I am very healthy for my age and I dislike taking anything I dont actually have to.  I threw out the 3 or 4 bottles of Percoset (fractured skull), Vicodin (Wisdom Tooth Extraction) and ultra-strength ibuprofen perscription medicines a few months ago because I never took them for the pain I was perscribed them for, and I was sick of looking at the bottles.

If a condition persists for 3-5 days I will go to the doctor and get a throat swab / blood tests, but if nothing bacterial comes back I dont bother filling the perscription for antibiotics.  This is because I dont want to destroy the bacterial flora which my body uses to stay healthy.

If I get the flu, I climb into bed with a shot of brandy in hot lemon and honey water, watch movies, sleep, and/or complain.  Three days later, Im all better and life goes on.

Just me, could be wrong, but there you go.

I would have emailed them to you, but I couldnt get them to scan in.

Well, that and they expired a year prior to being thrown out.

Lucky you. I am severely disabled and near death for two weeks up to one month.

I've gotten the flu shot the past 4 years.  I have no problem with the shot and it never makes me sick.  But it's only their best guess as to which flu strains will be out there.  I'm also in a group that is supposed to get a shot every year, but I'm not sure it makes a huge difference.  If I do get sick, I don't go to the doctor, I usually drink hot tea, fruit juice and try to flush it out with fluids, I don't know if that works, but that's what I do.

Hello A/all,

This is not entirely true.  The flu virus recombines itself (that is what viruses do, they share genetic information with each other and come up with new combinations) in birds, vectors to pigs, and then to humans every year in China.  It then takes approximately a year to circumnavigate the globe to the United States and Europe.

The flu shot you get is used to fight the reassorted virus they find so that your immune system recognizes and neutralizes it once it actually gets here.

The H5N1 virus has a profoundly more serious lethality in birds than the garden variety versions we get flu shots against.  What they are worried about is that it will recombine the lethality aspects of the virus with a virus (like the common flu) which will vector to pigs and then to humans.  The good news is that viruses tend to trade the ability to vector to different species for lethality.  So if H5N1 ever does make it to humans, odds are fairly good that it will not have the same lethality it currently has to birds.

On the other hand, the Spanish Flu was extremely lethal in it's day, and variants of it still travel around the globe.  Our immune system happens to have evolved to destroy it before it kills us.

Just me, could be wrong, but there you go.

LOL....I flush those things regularly too....after my surgeries I had bottles big enough to OD a herd of horses....750 mg Vicodins, Percocets, Tylox and Dilaudid. Figured it wasn't really a good idea to keep them laying around the house. I keep a few for "just in case" something was to happen and I couldn't get to the doc right away....and I flush the rest.

PS- Ive taken them as old as 8 years old. they are still ok.

the worst thing of these meds is the aceteminaphen. that will fry your liver. my liver is fine. by the way until 1903, it was legal to get high on anything in the USA.

anyhow it isnt hard to 420 them or trade for something yould prefer.
