GddssBella -> Sharing a Vision... (10/21/2006 12:07:37 AM)

G'morning all:

I'm not always given to writing prose. I was waxing mellow and felt compelled to compose a short piece. It's a vision of what I see as a perfect slice of time. It's not gender specific. If you wish to share it with others, feel free. If you wish to critique it, please pass it by. It's a gift. I could find no other appropriate column, so I'll submit it here and hope it inspires someone, somewhere to keep faith.

A Moment In Time.

Thine eyes, pools of twilight, in darkness come.
A drift of down, upon my cheek, softly rests.
Words, gentle and quiet, warm my ears.
The touch of a butterfly's wing could not compare,
To the caress of your hand.
Against the strength of your chest I rest.
Within this divine circle do I rejoice.
No fairer place can there be.
No gift finer than the beat of your heart,
Paced to my own.
An embrace. May it never end.

I first created it in WordPad then cut, copy, and pasted it here. Pardon if the pages scripts mangle the appearance a bit.

Stay safe, play nice, & share your toys w/ others...

I don't wish to critique it, or to pass it by either. It made me feel like riffing on it a little bit.

Thank you for sharing it.

Thine eyes, pools of twilight in darkness

Come twinkling and sparkling

A drift of down upon my cheek rests softly

Beneath this rest I find my own

Words, slow and quiet, comfort me

Cushion and coverlet

A butterfly's wing cannot carry her aloft

More surely, more softly

Than the caress of thy hand carries me

Now sighing, now silent

Against thy chest I rest

Safely moored; floating in thy harbor

Within this circle do I rejoice

Do I give thanks and celebrate

No fairer place

No grace more sweet

No finer gift than the beat of thy heart

Paced to my own

No cloud closer to heaven than our mingled breath

No brighter magic than the release I find

Here in this darkness

Here in this embrace

So this is a gift too, I guess; to the previous poet and to anyone who wants it but mostly to a certain little someone who somehow sparkles even in the deepest dark.

Thank you both!  They were both beautiful!
