Well I guess it must for some as there is so much of it going online. However, I would say alot of people use it as a tool to see if someone is willing to take orders and to prove their genuine.

I need hands on too, over the internet allows me way to much freedom to be deviant. I guess with cam it would be more realistic. However, personally, I don't get true satisfaction unless my Dom is there to keep me kneeling.

Although my preference lays in something real I have done online stuff before and all I can say is if it weren't for those experiences I never would have had a kinkified experience, well one I didn't pay money for anyway. It isn't that I'm not open to meeting someone real through the internet, but it's a matter of finding someone of the opposite sex that doesn't find me butt ugly.

Lol, what I meant was I do much better with a short leash. My prior Doms were not 24/7 but I knew if I felt like getting outta line, I could get quick recourse grin.

Online anything can only go so far, you can read and study, even mentoring is fine. But as for 'online Domination or submission' nothing replaces realtime.

I completely agree with this, although those who scoff at "internet training" tend to forget there's a whole big handful of us in long distant-type relationships who do just fine. The training of the mind, and of one's will can surely transcend time and space. You don't always need to be in the same room for that. I do believe, however, that "real time" is necessary to bring the relationship to optimal depths. Many equate "online" with cybersex. I can't remember the last time I participated in such an activity - it's been years. However, it does feel a desire for those who enjoy it. But I'm not sure the OP was about just cybersex. Maybe it was and I missed it.

I had experiences with online D/s when I was younger and figuring out what I was, I found the experiences interesting but nothing beats realtime for me.

I am currently training my subbie online and over the phone. We both know that this is temporary until she is ready to move in. I see nothing wrong with it on a short term basis, especially when you find someone that you can connect with deeply. To those who think remote D/s is a wank fest, I wonder if you think that bdsm is just kinky sex as well?

Angel and I are long distance, and until we live closer, like with shadevarr, I train him online and on the phone. It keeps us connected, while we deal with the realities of location. Thankfully, ours is a temporary situation and I plan on relocating to his area by January. Untl then, he performs his tasks and we talk online when we have to and on the phone when we can. Being that he is a student, working around his schedule is hectic enough that we dont get as much time as we'd like. However, the connection between us continues to grow while we wait to be realtime again. So yes, for some of us this does realy work. DV
