Michael, any mindset to begin with is not conducive to imagery and self-awareness that can come with increased suggestibilty.  The whole point is to free the mind and thus focus it. Hypnosis calls upon one to exercise emotional intelligence, focus and desire to change one's life for the better.  You just have to want it.
