Level -> Baby boom in France (10/18/2006 4:01:17 AM)

JUMEAUVILLE, France - When the municipal day-care center ran out of space because of a local baby boom, the town government gave Maylis Staub and her husband $200 a month to defray the cost of a "maternal assistant" to care for their two children.

While falling birthrates threaten to undermine economies and social stability across much of an aging Europe, French fertility rates are increasing. France now has the second-highest fertility rate in Europe -- 1.94 children born per woman, exceeded slightly by Ireland's rate of 1.99. The U.S. fertility rate is 2.01 children.

I thought France is the country of love. There should be many Baby Booms in which everyone is prepared for.

Last time i looked, Americans had passed France for the number of times they are having sex in a week - Viagra maybe?

The European Union had a meeting to decide how many condoms should be in a packet. (This sort of thing really does happen)

The German delegate said one. Sex more than once a week is an over indulgence.

The Italian delegate said six! Sex once a day is a must but not on Sundays when a man must visit his Mama.

The French delegate scoffed and said seven! A real man needs sex at least once EVERY day.

The British delegate looked around the room and said rather phelgmatically, twelve.

Everyone looked round at him in admiration.

He then said, January, February, March, April.....

Back on topic. De Gaulle wanted the French population to grow to 100 million and become the biggest population in Europe. Ever since then the French have had financial incentives for women to have more children.

I polled my family   they said 49.   7 times a day times 7 days a week.
