Benji   Why in the world would you want to go to a target?   If you want to do that just go to the Pentagon and eat at Ground Zero.   Tell you what.   We aren't a target way out here in the desert    come and visit me and I'll let you go to Laughlin NV and gamble all you want.

Benji...be careful...I heard (from a very reliable source) that there's a Jihad on all those sidewalk places that serve "Philly cheese steak sandwiches".

(Watch your back).

(More importantly....ask for "no cheese"...it's a start).

Jesus Christ Almighty.  I hope Ken's comments were in jest, or I may just reconsider coming to the states.

A target for what?  Terrorism?  Because of that one little strike 5 years ago?

Goes to show how well terrorism works.

Yours,

benji

Enjoy, Benji!  Hope you get a chance to lift your leg.

A Philly Cheese doesn't *really* have cheese, it has wiz.

That's actually disgusting.

(However, it does comply rather markedly with my experience with a "Genuine Philly Cheese Steak Sandwich" in Times Square)

Wow, I thought...this can NOT be true..so I looked it up...and it IS.

Ok...well it kinda is, the original sandwiches didn't come with cheese. They came out in 1930 and there was no such thing yet as Cheese Whiz....but it is the cheese of choice since 1952. Here's the history....and the recipe:

The Original Pat's King of Steaks® Philadelphia Cheese Steak recipe
For all the people who can not get to
South Philadelphia to get the Original.
Here is the recipe for you home chefs.
Serves 4

24oz thin sliced rib eye or eye roll steak
6 table spoons of Soya bean oil
Cheese {we recommend Cheez Whiz®} American or Provolone works fine
4 crusty Italian Rolls
1 large Spanish onion

Optional
sweet green and red peppers sautéed in oil
Mushrooms sautéed in oil

Assembly
Heat an iron skillet or a non stick pan over medium heat
add3 table spoons of oil to the pan and sauté the onions to desired doneness
remove the onions
add the remaining oil and sauté the slices of meat quickly on both sides
melt the cheez Whiz® in a double boiler or in the microwave
place 6oz. of the meat into the rolls
add onions, and pour the Cheez Whiz® over top
garnish with hot or fried sweet peppers, mushrooms, ketchup

Put on the theme song to the first Rocky movie and enjoy!

I've been to Jim's twice in Philly- THE only place for "true" philly cheesesteaks.

I always get provolone, my partner always gets the whiz.  I can't decide which I like better.

Enjoy NY Benji :)  Right time of year to go.

LotusSong -> RE: New York, New York (10/13/2006 4:49:07 PM)

I hear Bullseye is beautiful in the fall.  :)

gooddogbenji -> RE: New York, New York (10/13/2006 4:51:12 PM)

Hey, about 4000 people enjoyed it "in the fall."

Although enjoyment may be the wrong word.

Yours,

benji

Have a great trip, Benji!  If you need any advice on where to go or what to do, feel free to ask.

gooddogbenji -> RE: New York, New York (10/13/2006 5:17:54 PM)

Actually, I have a pretty full schedule, including about 74 hours at The Strand (used bookstore, for all ignorant fucknuts)

Yours,

benji

Very cool.  I used to live near the main Strand and it was very dangerous for my bank account.  If you haven't already been, the original Barnes & Noble (Fifth Ave and 18th St.) isn't far from the Strand.  It's not worth going out of your way for it, but if you happen to be passing by, it's kind of neat to see where it all started.

ownedgirlie -> RE: New York, New York (10/13/2006 7:06:10 PM)

Spent a week there last year and had the time of my life. Enjoy!
