Imagine if after Pearl Harbor and after it became clear we faced the far away threat of Germany and Japan, Roosevelt had invaded Canada.  Instead of being protected by oceans we had a foe capable of launching air and ground attacks against us.  Imagine if due to pisspoor planning we were losing the war against Canada and were also threatening and making enemies of Mexico while were at it.

Would you be screaming that the commander in chief be impeached or would you be stupid enough to fall for the argument that Canada was the central war on fascism?

I think that a basic skill of a "commander" is that he is able to differentiate between countries that did and did not attack us, call me crazy but it does seem like a fairly basic skill.

I've always said, wrong war, wrong enemy, wrong country. Anyone who gets it that wrong shouldn't be in control of a pet hamster never mind a country.

BUSH?  A COMMANDER?  Please, don't make me laugh, it hurts tooooo much!  the bronchitis, you know.  If I laugh I may die.

You don't think this had anything to do with who attacked us?  This was an AGENDA, plain and simple.  It was about military and political power, and the opportunity came along to carry out that agenda, riding on the crest of anti-Muslim public opinion post 9/11 (skillfully fostered by the government and media to allow them to get enough support for their agenda) and the success in Afghanistan at having removed the Taliban going to his head.  Besides, if we didn't attack SOMEONE, Dear Lil Dubya wouldn't be able to claim he was a "war president" anymore.  It was CLEARLY encumbent on him to make sure we stayed at war so he could go into the election claiming to be a war president!

I have to say, as far as I know that's a first, the only President who took our country to war so he could be a "war president."

But Iraq did attack us, on 9/11.  I mean, they didn't have anything to do with 9/11, but they attacked us.  (Well, not really.)  So we're there because they attacked us, but they had nothing to do with it.

This isn't as complicated as you make it, Crappy.

Yours,

benji

Imagine if the Japanese had invaded Pearl harbour... and stayed. But that's another thread.

Bush did it to please daddy. Anyone who'd use the world to sort out issues best handled in a therapist's office needs to have their head examined. Why humanity continaully allows mad men to have power is one of the great mysteries of history.

Wherever it is needed. And it is always needed. Honest labour is good therapy for devious minds.

Typical, instead of Troops along that Mexican border he sends them to Iraq.
If they "know" that Bin Laden and al qeada are in Pakistan why not go in there and get them?
Iraq has nothing to do with a war on terror it's an Exon/Mobil play!
I'm completely finished with voting for Republicans or Democrats and have been for some time now.
Two DUDS in a row and they BOTH went to "YALE!"
