I know this is a downer; but I am curious to know how many test their slaves, or ask in depth questions to subs, about sexual backgrounds, histories, etc.. How many get tested themselves; and/or what precautions do you take.

Before my Daddy and I had sex without condoms were were both awarded a clean bill of health from our respective doctors. My former dominant likewise was tested between relationships if you want to know about the D/s relationships I have had.

Being completely clean when one enters into a new relationship is an awesome gift to give each other... beyond being sane safe and consensual.. it is the spring board for communication and trust.

In this day and age, folks would be crazy not to, in my opinion. Neither of us have been with anyone else since we got married and tested, but we would do so readily if we intended on being intimate with others. When we're getting to know a potential slave, we ask any and all in-depth questions that we can come up with. That way, we know, to the best of our abilities and their honesty, what we might be getting ourselves into with this particular slave. If things become serious or look like they're going that way, we ask that they get themselves tested. We intend to always use safer-sex practices with others.

As always, YMMV...

I get tested at my yearly OBGYN appointment. He gets tested at his yearly checkup. Simply as a precaution.

If were were sexual with others without protection, we'd get tested more often, I think.

I have to ask....what exactly are you all getting tested for? There are over 25 sexually transmitted diseases. When I worked in substance abuse treatment, sexual health was a common topic of discussion. I was very surprised to learn that many women think that they are tested at their yearly exam. This is just not the case, unless you ask for each specific test or tell your doctor that you wish to be tested for every possible thing. Same with guys....sexually transmitted disease tests are not part of routine check ups. Also, to be tested for "everything" is mighty costly.

due to the work that this slave does she is tested every 6 months for HIV; as to the rest that you may be referring to, this slave gets tested once a year, voluntarily.
Before beginning our relationship, Master was tested also, as an act of faith in her favor

Of course, seeing as how Master and his slave do not have a 'sexual' relationship, it is really of no importance what the results were to this slave.

I go to my ob gyn on a regular basis because i have had alot of trouble with ovarian cysts...I sometimes think he sees more of me than any man ever will

I require a full blood screening prior to meeting any female. Once she becomes mine, she is not allowed to engage in any sort of fluid exchange with another human being, unless I allow it. This is done for her protection, my protection, and the protection of other females serving me. In this age, it is quite foolish to kiss, lick, bite, suck or fuck without precaution.

edited to add that this was a fast reply in response to the thread

I was tested for the more common ones, and hep A and B, HIV, in addition to a pap smear which will pick up a few sexually transmitted diseases such as warts... all came back negative

takes two to tango... not just the subs should be required to be tested or asked about backgrounds

Both the dominant as well as the submissive should be able to provide this information.

Personally I have asked partners for more than just one recent test... I wanted to see consecutive testing for as far back as they could provide. I've personally had myself tested every 6 months to a year since I became sexually active.

I have been tested, and wil again if it makes the boy more comfortable. He is a virgin, so testing for his would be unnecessary, but if I asked it, he would.

there's two points of some import.

firstly, tests aren't particularly usefull. take for instance HIV, which would be the daddy of STDs. suppose someone has unprotected sex today, that results in the virus being transmitted. if they get tested tomorrow, they will come up negative in virtually every test available (there are a couple rather expensive ones that have a shot at detecting it. a shot). if he gets tested next week he's still going to be negative. next month, he's mostly going to show positive, in lab tests. but months down the road the do it yourself test kits will still show false negatives.

are you willing to do the test twice and wait 6 months ?

secondly, tests are pretty expensive, and many elective tests (ie, not ordered by doctor) are not actually covered by many insurance plans. unless doctors are trying to do epidemics prophylaxy, they aren't very likely to order tests. especially they aren't going to run STD tests randomly during yearly check-ups. mostly because if they were to start with it, there's a list of at least 100 things they would want to check first, before they'd get to STDs, all sorts of cancerous and metabolic problems, toxicities etc. your yearly would end up taking an actual year. and also because it's considered by many a sort of invasion of privacy, in an unexamined sort of way.

in short, most people overestimate how well they're being tested (uhh, but i went to the doctor every year for a check-up, well, except last year, cause i was busy, and the year before cause i didn't remember... and it's not yet time this year) and how effectual tests in fact are.

That is where trust in someone comes into play, either you decide to take that leap of faith or you live in fear and let fear control your most intimate moments. I would rather trust someone that acted worthy of it then to live with distrust.. it is a risk I calculated and decided to take.. others will have a different view

I went specifically and got these test done by the family planning and health department for very cheap.... there is really no reason not to get it done... and I had the results in print.

I do like to know that they have been tested since their last sexual partner but most importantly I get an idea of how likely they were just by discussing our sexual pasts. I do this for multiple reasons, including finding out her preferences and dislikes.

Every 6 months is what Sir recommends and He also is tested that often.

HIV test every six months. The other big ones, syphilis, gonorrhea, chlamydia and herpes I get tested for at the time of my annual checkup paid for out of my own pocket but I go to the local health dept. clinic for the tests and it is not very expensive. Before I'm intimate with someone I want to see the results of at least a recent test for all of that and before I have unsafe sex with someone I want 2 consecutive negative HIV tests. Yes it does make for a sometimes awkward conversation but since the alternative is a lethal disease I'm willing to put up with it.
