On several occassions, in various groups and sites on the net, I have came upon things called "Slavery Enrollment Form" or "Slave Contract"...mainly the same thing titled differently. As I never had an opportunity to see one of these "contracts" for real, I was only wondering if people often request for such written consents to be signed before they engage in any action BDSM related, between themselves.
And also, are these contracts used in non-pro and pro relationships betwenn two people?

thanks
greetings

Yes, they are used.  Of course, they are not legally enforceable.  The purpose of them are to generally outline the requirements and responsibilities for the dom and sub/slave.  They are a good starting point and I do like them.  However, they should not be used in lieu of open, honest verbal communication.  I have found that all things being equal the use of a formal contract boils down to personal preference.

For groups and Pro Dominants, you rarely sign a "slave contract" as part of enjoying the activities. You usually, however, sign a waiver of liability where you state you understand that what you're doing contains a certain amount of risk, that you're old enough, etc. etc. Most of us that use slave contracts do so when beginning a Ds or Ms relationship rather than simply play partnership.

i doubt what you've seen is like the one i signed, along with my Goddess, in early August. She insists on one to be considered for service. It was designed by Her, to suit Her needs. If all goes as we've planned, i'll be signing my permanent one on 1 November, when my training contract expires.

Its sole purpose is to show my sincerity and to outline Her responsibilities and my duties. Completely unenforceable, unless you don't consider dismissal as a means of enforcement. i think that's the ultimate incentive to not break it. And it has been neither the basis of verbal communication, nor a stimulus for it. It is the foundation that my future as Her boy will be built on, though.

For clubs and parties and groups you'll be asked to read the rules and guidelines and sign a form saying you have. As MasterFireMaam says, its about liability.

Me personally, I do a written negotiation with anyone I scene with in private. I think it forces us to slow down and really think about things plus if we scene agains I have a reference to consider when making plans.

I use trainer and ownership contracts for the same reasons plus I think the ritual of them and the forms themselves are hot ideas.

Contracts are as the others here have said not a legal thing but a bonding one. It is a way to help each party to see in black in white what is ecpected of both sides. To futher seal thier commetment to each other. I personally use them when one of my slaves finish their years training and if we agree that they will enter into a lifetime 24/7 slavehood. It is a verydetailed contract that is not just onesided. It also stated My responsabilites to them as well. As thier owner I have oblgations to them to. And it defines things so clearly that it makes them and Me feel on stable ground going in. I am a firm advicate of contracts.

Ok...so I was wondering, once your sub signs such a contract, does that make you feel like you can widen the spectar of activities you get into with such sub then with the sub that doesn't sign?

No, because someone who won't sign is signally they aren't the appropriate partner for me.

My training contract functions also as a manual and Fox even today will from time to time refer to it though he routinely refered to it when he was in training. Everyone I've trained, about two dozen by now I think, says that they found it very useful between our face-to-face meetings.

Fox isn't big into signing things, our current contract is only two sentences long but the previous contracts' rules and rituals remain in effect. However, given those two sentences or a mere verbal agreement I think gives more potential power to the top who can say "I've now decided it will be like this" giving the bottom with the only choice of following or leaving. By my agreeing to things in our contract I have accepted certain limits to my authority just as much as Fox as agreed to respect my authority in other areas.

To be in my service a sub must sign so that's not a variable.  I also feel that I can expand my activities as desired with proper communication, regardless.  My particular contract provides for that.  It is not an all encompassing "this is what we will do and this is what we not" document to be put away and never addressed again.  It is, instead, an agreement to the relationship and includes how to deal with the slave's and my requirements, responsibilities, limits and expanding them if desired.  It is a starting point but relationships are fluid and my contract never replaces open honest communication throughout the process.

I do not use a contract for one time play, only with submissives or slaves who I own.

Depends on the nature of the relationship and the nature of the contract.  Some contracts explicitly spell out what can and can't be done, and where the boundaries are.  Some don't.  Again, you're going to get 100 answers if you ask 100 dominas.
