Aeon -> RE: Dungeon's. (9/16/2006 8:15:09 AM)

You know I haven't participated in this thread b4 now, but in passing, noticed the comments that were being made in response to this girl's very simple question and it made me think because I see this soooo often here in the message boards. I wonder....
Why is it that when someone posts a question here "people" (ususally the female half of the species whether sub or Domme) feel the need to go back and view all the other posts by the OP and investigate them and search out any reason, however small, to question or doubt the OP's comments.  Why is it that a simple question cannot just get a simple answer here?? Why is it that the females in the board feel the need to immediately get catty and start trying to down the OP by calling him/her a liar or a con? And I point out the females because as anyone can see the OP got 4 initial responses-- 2 from men and 2 from women.  The men, as usual, were very straightforward and helpful, as is the purpose of the board if i understand it correctly, but the women were both dismissive of her concerns and began to immediately interrogate the OP about pevious unrelated posts.  Who cares how this post relates to the OP's previous posts? Maybe something in her life has changed since her last post. You don't live her life and cannot possibly hope to have anything resembling knowledge of where she is in her life at the current moment.  No matter how recent her last post was.  And it is completely irrelevant to begin with! I'm sorry to rant, but i find it disgraceful that the community has set up a place like this one where people are supposed to be able to come and ask questions without feeling like they are being judged and the people who have the knowledge and experience to answer those questions use it as a way to make them feel bad or dimiss them as "not real". You folks should be the teachers and guides and instead you act like this is some kind of ultra snobby clique that newbies have to prove themselves to in order to be "in". Ladies!! Stop being so catty and focusing on irrelevant BS and just answer the freakin question for ONCE!  lol  *stepping down off the soapbox now* illuminati--i hope you find the answers you are looking for and don't let these sour bastards get you down...just keep being you!

of course that is your judgement... and your judgement as never been of any value.  so we can put it in the trash with the rest of the crap
Reading this just makes me chuckle and shake my head. Poor chap, you came rushing in here with your wittle "sword" in your hands, to save the honor of your maiden, only to be made the jester for everyones amusement. And to prove how much of a "twue" lil dom you are you need to hurl your insults. Have a good day, knight.

This is an organization in the Kansas City area that should be able to help you find a dungeon, or at least give you some advice on finding a place to play safely.

Good luck to you, and I am glad you've decided to take the next step in entering the lifestyle!

diamonddreamlove -> RE: Dungeon's. (9/17/2006 2:36:40 AM)

Might check to see if someone you know has a private dungeon where you can be safe (invite a few others to play at the same time) but not have the pressure of a first scene with numerous folks you don't know.  Just a suggestion tho and good luck.

swtnsparkling -> RE: Dungeon's. (9/17/2006 3:13:22 AM)

I think it's great there are posts we can go back and read. It allows us all to see lies and inconstancies in ones words. Most here do genuinely wish to help those who truly wish help and not just playing around.

ExSteelAgain -> RE: Dungeon's. (9/17/2006 3:25:25 AM)

I can't help you with clubs in KS and I'll give you this to mull over. I don't know why finding a club is that important. A public first time experience for safety, may be an idea, but I don't think most newbies first experiences take place in clubs. You have to have a level of trust with your Dom that your safety is assured to begin with. Have you invested enough time with this person that you know you can trust him? Plus, practically speaking, there are techiques in the unhurried environment of a private home that work better for newbies. Good luck in any case and welcome to BDSM.

LadyHugs -> RE: Dungeon's. (9/17/2006 5:51:50 PM)

Dear SweetSarijane, illuminati1, Ladies and Gentlemen;

In the Washington, DC area; there is a preference of 21+ for all private parties and private dungeons.  Even the business dungeon gets a bit worried when there are 20 and younger on premise.

That said, it may be wise to inquire if there are age restrictions and the like.  With some places serving as a bar in addition to a dungeon, there might be alcoholic beverage rules and regulations that hamper such entry by those under age 21.

As some people over 21 sure act as silly as children at times, there are young lads/lassies that are mature for their age but, the law will be the law and it is best not to attract anymore unwelcomed visits by law enforcement and or their under-cover officers/agents/informants who filter in and out in our area.

Respectfully submitted for consideration,
Lady Hugs
