Our household watched his closing statement last night before the President's speech. I disagree with his problems with there still being no building or memorial in place of the WTC. I'd much prefer we take time and really do it right rather than rush to move on. As soon as something else goes into that space, it will become a symbol, and one more step removed from the actual experience. I know that there will and should eventually be something there, but 5 years is hardly anything compared to the gravity of the site. Otherwise, I thought it was very biting and interesting perspective, and sad to see it on cable and not network.

I think the better part of his special comment was the quote from Rod Sterling: The tools of conquest do not necessarily come with bombs, and explosions, and fall out. There are weapons that are simply thoughts, attitudes, prejudices to be found only in the minds of men. Prejudices can kill and suspicion can destroy, and a thoughtless, frightened search for a scapegoat has a fall out all its own for the children, and the children yet unborn.

Just glad to see that someone on TV is finally showing some balls. So far, the only ones with balls have been a few journalists and academics.

The lack of rebuilding progress has a lot more to do with lawyers and lawsuits than politics. Olbermann is much more concerned with politics versus rebuilding. I visit this site regularly to get an update. The next time I visit in person will be for the buildings opening. http://www.projectrebirth.org/

Fast reply I have only watched a speech by Bush once, and that was because my former dominant ordered me to so we could laugh at him together. It doesn't matter what his speeches are about, I tend to get sick watching him. I have read his speeches though. My former dominant used to threaten me that if he ever punished me he would tie me up and replay every state of the union speech until I was dry heaving... I do not think he was joking either.

Merc, If someone invaded America and threw 2/3 of us out of work and brought in Mexicans to do all the work and there was no way for you to feed your family, would you welcome them with flowers? I don't know what you would do but for some odd reason it sure seemed to piss of the Iraqis, but then again, what do Islamofascistfuckjapniggerkikehuns know about anything anyway?

it is normal to be riddled in lawsuits per manhatten. if they drag the process too long- i can picture the towers being built in NEW JERSEY. it would be a coup for jersey tax wise.....
