This is deffinetly not completly true so I sugest maybe you check your sourse and while this may be the case for whoever told you and maybe even a few others this is not the reason people seek out a nurtering parental type there are many reasons who ever pointed this out to you made a HUGE generaliseation. Its sorta like saying that people who seek to be slaves were abused in their past. While it sertently may be true about some it isnt a fact.

I seek out ageplay and daddy girl stuff because I miss how wonderfull my child hood was outside the abuse, and because my years of abuse have left very deep very personal scars.

I don't think you have to have had a good relationship with your parents to be pulled to that rollplay.  I could be wrong.  It's not an attraction for me personally, but I do know several who follow it.
