My father married his 2nd wife, Jan 1979, knew her for 3 yrs. I married my ex husband July 1979, knew him for 2 yrs. My mother married my stepfather in Nov 1979. They are the only ones still married. They knew each other for 100 days, from the time they met to the day of the wedding. They are still going strong. It takes two people to make a marriage or a relationship work no matter how long you have known them.

Indeed.  My parents knew each other in person for 5 days, and then communicated, submarine to foreign country, via letter (meaning maybe about 4-5 letters got through).  Dad sent a telegram "Be ready on such n such day for our wedding."  She was ready.  They married.  They remained married until his death, 51 years later.

Hello MasterFireMaam,
Thank you for your advice and the lovely link. I appreciate it much.
To all others who have taken the time to share thoughts and advice I am grateful for all the imput. It's given me lots to ponder.

I realize time is not the biggest issue rather it's my ability to hop on the wrong bandwagon so to speak that's the main focus here for me. Hell I knew my first husband 14 years before I married him and that didn't guarantee anything either. He never touched a drop of liquor till our wedding day and touched it heavily daily from that point foreword. Time isn't the problem it's my choices I make that I need to re-evaluate if I am to have a successful relationship.

I am not at a point I do not feel I'm a valuable person. I do love myself for who I am. I just have to get over needing a man to be complete. When I'm complete on my own then I'll be ready to seek a mate and not before.
Suzanne
