SirRichard1946 -> dowelling (9/5/2006 12:22:54 PM)

Hi all, my new sub is into dowelling, what does it mean?

CrappyDom -> RE: dowelling (9/5/2006 12:24:34 PM)

I is a kink where submissive women seek out men unable to communicate.

Viper001 -> RE: dowelling (9/5/2006 12:27:45 PM)

Sorry, I've never heard of this term within the context of BDSM. Is it possible she means caning using dowels ?? It's a stretch, but the only thing I can think of, lol.

Respectfully,
RFJM

MstrssPassion -> RE: dowelling (9/5/2006 12:31:52 PM)

doweling perhaps?

kind of like stocks... best I can come up with

Best person to ask would be her... one thing you have to be able to establish is good communication, regardless of the kink you wish to engage.

Don't let being the dominant & her being the submissive stop you from asking her to fill you in on what she is talking about. If you didn't know what she was talking about the best thing to do would have been to ask her right there & then... what is dowelling/doweling (sp) ?

Ty, i will take yr advise...Sir Richard

Sunshine119 -> RE: dowelling (9/5/2006 12:35:33 PM)

This is all I can find.  Why don't you ask her?

I agree.  Ask her. It may be something you already know about and she just knows it by another name.

PlayfulOne -> RE: dowelling (9/5/2006 2:23:43 PM)

Why would you just not simply ask her?  A simple, "I'm not familiar with that term could you tell me a lilttle about what you mean?"  should do the trick.

or ya could just google it and let her think you really ARE an all-knowing Dom.

DOI! Just ask her!

PlayfulOne -> RE: dowelling (9/5/2006 3:10:29 PM)

yes heaven forbide we actually communicate with our submissives and possibly let them know we might not know everything.

Interesting search though, it comes up as referring to stocks, useing a dowel as a cane, and using dowels to make cages.

Better  to just ask her what she means, he may all ready know what she is talking about, just by a different term.

MrMister -> RE: dowelling (9/5/2006 3:11:36 PM)

From what limited knowledge I have to draw from, doweling is a technique used by various woodworkers to join two pieces of wood via a wooden dowel and wood glue. Other than that, I can only recommend asking the little lass to clear up any ambiguity.

NastyDaddy -> RE: dowelling (9/5/2006 3:13:42 PM)

An alternative to doweling in cabinetry is dove-tailing. Small wooden dowel rods are used as pins, to glue wooden pieces together with a wooden dowel rod insereted/glued into pre-drilled holes in the wood pieces being joined. Very similar to steel reinforcing bars (rebar) used in poured concrete fixtures, bridges, roadways, etc.  Dove-tailing is sawing the mating edges into opposing patterns that fit snugly together, whether glued or not.

Dowel rods are used in BDSM play for whipping, or caning, either singular dowel rods or bundled together to be similar to a bamboo cane (used in Thailand and other garden spots for public court ordered punishments/beatings).

It is adviseable to start out with wooden dowels of a smaller diameter... before progressing to aluminum or steel dowel rod stock.

Doweling and rodding are somewhat synonymous terms.

LaTigresse -> RE: dowelling (9/5/2006 3:32:48 PM)

Nasty you da man!!!

I was seriously curious and hoping someone would come up with some facts (aside from the furniture making stuff which I already know and really isn't applicable here)
My creative imagination was coming up with all sorts of things someone would want to do with a dowel that would be painful, some even involved piercing body parts and I was prepared to say EWWWW OUCH!

PlayfulOne -> RE: dowelling (9/5/2006 4:12:46 PM)

A search also finds people referring to doweling  as using stocks.  The only way to know what she means is to ask her.

I think it is pretty obvious that she means using dowels as canes, but who the fuck would talk that way? Dowel me?

TNstepsout -> RE: dowelling (9/5/2006 4:42:15 PM)

Well it appears that no one here knows either. So when you find out, please let us know.

substephen59 -> RE: dowelling (9/5/2006 4:42:48 PM)

please let all of us know what she means ? would love to learn something new ! ty

DivaDuchess -> RE: dowelling (9/5/2006 5:08:48 PM)

*Assumes one-legged hopping type of pose* .... ASK HER ASK HER ASK HER *lol*

Just ask her.  I do that all the time and it turns out to be something the slave/sub calls by a name different than I am used to hearing.

Quite possibly a sub talking to a prospective Dominant and wanting to see how readily He will admit to not knowing something, and ask her for information..
