Estring, How exactly would you have supported the Shaw? As for Carter, he set us on a path for energy independence almost three decades ago. The Republicans not only took us off that path, the tore the entire path up. I don't anybody a free ride, but if you want to compare letting the hostages sit there to invading the wrong country, I say letting the hostages sit there was less horrible. Carter killed the useless B1, a pointless weapon Raygun brought back. Remember how hard it was to find Scuds? The B1 was supposed to find and destroy SS18s on the Eurasian landmass before they could be launced, talk about a fools errand. Carter will be a lot like Eisenhower, a decade or so from now, he will be seen as a bit of a visionary.
