its really like driving:  who should drive? The sub because he serves or the Dom because he is in control of where they go?

yeah, this was ripped from the thread about financial support, but i like the question and would like to hear everyone's opinions on it.

I'm usually the driver, because I'm probably better at it (regardless who I'm with).  I also open the doors, although I realize that wouldn't necessarily be my Dom-ly place.

I have a phobia of driving, so I guess this covers it for our dynamic... although he is going to work with me to overcome it...

If a Dom is a gentleman, that makes him a "better" Dom.

I decide who drives, and I usually decide that I will drive. But my slave runs the cd player.

I prefer not to drive, it's less dangerous when putting on my mascara ;)

Seriously, I think we both do a fair amount of driving.  I would prefer most times not to frive, though.

Depends on my mood. Monday thru Friday I drive a minimum of 100 miles a day. Tomorrow I have to go up to the city, that will be 140 miles round trip. It has just become part of life and I don't mind it. If I think I can get away with it there are a few country highways I enjoy going quite a bit faster than the speed limit says I should.......moreso than usual that is. However, tomorrow will not be one of those days, holiday weekend and all. I know how the Iowa State Patrol is on holiday weekends......

Hubby always drives when we are together, he likes being in control of every situation.

He usually drives because I'm white knuckled behind the wheel, even for a trip to the grocery store. However he did ask me to the other night as he really needed something and was too tired to focus.

With HusDom, to the club, major sporting events, i drive, He loathes heavy traffic, and i swear He panics when He can't control the other drivers.   Coming home, He drives because i've been drinking, controlling ME off the roads is best for all.  It's all part of the care-taking thingie.

When Master comes to town, my car, my insurance, my road.  but He definately uses whatever "training opportunities" there are to monitor my speed and direction. <grins>

My car, like my computer, is a synthetic sub.  It's responsive and obeys my every command immediately.  If and when I acquire a human sub, I can't imagine letting her interfere in my already-established M/s relationship with my car.

My Dom usually always drives because he thinks he is better at it too. Fine by me because I hate to drive. He also opens all doors for me. I'm actually not allowed to open any door if I am with him. Such a control freak!

I drive, I open the door for her, I let her go first, etc.  She controls the radio.  Not even for a BDSM reason, but because that is the way I was brought up... and the radio thing, well, I do not like listening to the radio so I never turn it on...but she enjoys it so she turns it on for herself.

Since this particular Dom can make a good case for being the World's worst passenger, I drive!

I almost always have the sub drive, simply because I detest driving.

Pain is a professional driver so I usually let him do most of the driving, so long as we're in his car. He HATES driving my truck, but will if I ask.
A few months ago both our vehicles decided to die within a couple days of each other and w ended up borrowing one of his parents cars. I had him doing all the driving til we got my truck worked out. There was no way insurance or no that I wanted to explain to my in law I wrecked their car.
House rule, music/radio is drivers option since they should be the most comfortable person in the car.

If it's my car i drive - i pay the insurance and am legally responsible.  i love driving and prolly drive about 30,000 miles a year easily.  i don't generally like not being the driver, sort of a pet peeve of mine.
