NavyDDG54 -> Military (8/26/2006 5:24:10 AM)

Hello,
I am a 21 year old dom currently serving in the US Navy, stationed in Japan.  I was wondering if there are any other service members(current or retired) out there that were in the lifestyle while in the military.  If so I would love to talk to you to share experiences.

Aron

Yes, while you are there try to find the shibari dojos.  You will never have this type of opportunity in your life again.

I spent time in Korea and experienced the equivalent of the Japanese Geishas. It is an elaborate, ritualized service by women that you can use later when teaching your subs. The polite service and etiquette amazed me.

I am a 21 year veteran still on active duty with the Army. Started in the lifestyle about 4 years ago. I am strictly with my wife sub. In my experience it is something I have kept to myself because it would not be healthy for a career leader to be labled a sexual deviant of any kind even though I know I am not. The rumor or insinuation would be enough.

Because of that we have always kept a low profile. Looking for a group around post was not an option, if someone I ran into there, especially a subordinate, ever got wind of it, that would be bad.

And I don't regret it at all. There is some thrilll to having a secret life. Not everyone wants to put this on display for the rest of the world - staying in the shadows is sort of cool.

Im active duty right now (going on 8 years).

I am not personally in the navy, but my boyfriend is. This is his 7th year in, and my first year experiencing first hand the trials and tribulations of not just a military relationship, but a D/s one at that.  It's certainly been interesting (andfun!) so far but like someone else said, it gets a little nerve wracking trying not to let anything slip.

Although, on the point of joining a RT group, even if someone else who is in the military is there, guess what?!  Ya both got shit on each other, so neither of the people there would be able to say anything to ruin the other, because that would out themselves along with you.

Not like I have to worry about that....he isn't keen on meeting anyone else that are part of WIITWD, let alone joining a group.  Though I hope eventually he will change his mind.  It's nice having other people to talk to about things, even when they aren't necessarily D/s related.

And I think your wanting to talk to others in this particular predicament is awesome.  Having friends that are D/s aregreat, but having people that are in quite the same kind of situation as yourself is sometimes even better.   They can relate better, and the support through understanding would be so great.

Spent a total of eighteen months in various locales throughout the South China Sea. Never met any service people or indigenous folks interested in the lifestyle.

After I found out how much Penecillin they went through over at sick bay.... I never thought twice about messing around with the locals [8|]

Have fun and be careful.

thanks for all your inputs, I never realized there were so many out there in the lifestyle, I assumed that we were few and far between.

Were I you, I WOULD consider changing my handle! I get nervous that someone might place where I'm from, but you've narrowed it down to a single command!

British army, 15 years, Sergeant, now retired, sub to Mistress Angel.

Crittersmaster -> RE: Military (8/27/2006 11:10:49 AM)

It might seem like having something on each other would make you safe, but it is not. After years of seeing what happens when someone in a subordinate position gets into some kind of trouble and is going go down for it, they often do anything or say anything they think will help them - including smeering someone else that is in no way related to their problems. Simply "having something" on each other is no insurance to protect yourself.

A prudent career military person knows how to keep a secret, and the best way to do that is to limit the secret to those that need to know. Only my pet and I need to know.

Agreed, thats why I kept my feelings under control until I had retired.  I would not have played while serving, there are too many jealous people who would love to tell tales to others.

lol let them, my shipmates already know..I went to the head one time when I was playing a computer game....they went through my photos while I was gone....found all of them, it's had no adverse effects, just brings up some different jokes from time to time.

Aubre -> RE: Military (8/28/2006 8:05:29 AM)

I'm a navy veteran, one time a mess cook got caught in the head sleeping on a shitter with his cock in his hand - a polaroid was taken and it was put in the Sailor of the Quarter plaque on the mess decks.

sub4hire -> RE: Military (8/28/2006 8:08:50 AM)

I was in the military when I met my first dom.  We knew of other's.  Why not start a group?  All it would take is a few fliers put up here and there.
I'm not aware of any retribution from doing so.

Crittersmaster -> RE: Military (8/28/2006 8:47:08 AM)

Naw, my plan is retirement and then getting into a local sceen. Maybe.

It is still lots of fun to have a secret life.

arissa -> RE: Military (8/28/2006 8:49:57 PM)

I was in Okinawa Japan when I discovered D/s, the vast differences between there and the US, wow. The houses there are not well known by genpop, but they are there, and IF able I suggest you look them up, just ask the right people, usually along Gate 2 street, no, the houses are not ON gate 2, but close. There is an air of privacy but caution is still needed. My husband knew but did not go with me, he was of course worried about getting caught, but in the 9 years we were there, and the 6 I went I was never caught. Some of my friends knew, but they were more interested in what and how then in busting me out. Hubby didnt mind because I was not playing outside our marriage, everything I learned I brought home with me and helped him. Just be careful, the Command does frown on it.

NavyDDG54 -> RE: Military (8/28/2006 11:52:59 PM)

Unfortunately I'm not in Okinawa, i'm on mainland.  And my command already knows, and I have been told as long as what I do is legal(and hetrosexual) i'm alright.

Caitriona -> RE: Military (8/28/2006 11:59:45 PM)

My Dom (also my husband) is active duty Air Force.  We maintain a strict "closed door" policy on this aspect of our lives.  It's intensely intimate, personal...and just for the two of us, at least at this point.  I doubt we'll ever casually discuss it with someone in his chain of command, but perhaps there will come a point later when we're comfortable enough talking about it with friends.
