I would be very interested in hearing what you all think about the comic book version of the 9/11 report which has just come out. I will reserve any statements of my own right now.

I didn't realize they were putting one out, but I believe graphic journalism can do unique work. Slate magazine is serializing The 9/11 Report: A Graphic Adaptation, here's a link to it:

While comics are often seen as a popular and low brow art form they can also be high art. It's all in the execution of the work. Some of the best comics range from biting satire to very poignent. To the French, comic artists are every bit artists as artists in any other art form. I wish Britain had a similar comic culture because I love comic art at their best. I guess I'm saying yes, no subject should be off limits to comics.

I agree, Meatcleaver. Alan Moore, Neil Gaiman, Moebius, Art Spieglman, etc, have done incredible work.
