Hello, all. Obviously, I am here to introduce Myself. I'm a complete newbie to all of this and I reside in Los Angeles. I've always known what BDSM is but I've never considered such a thing for Myself until about 4 days ago when My interest was randomly piqued by an even more random IM from a random sub male. I've always been an average person neither being Dominant or submissive, just normal, although I've never been one to let a man tell me this or that. I'm really interested in getting My foot in the door. Like I said, I'm completely new to the this and would like to know, are there any Dommes in LA willing to train or let Me at least sit in on a session for a closer look? How about fetish clubs? (I do so love to party) Do Dommes have to go through sub training before going through actual Domme training? I'd highly appreciate it if someone could show me the ropes. Thanks, BDSMers!

Honestly something like this people come from all angles, there is no one right way to do it, but before you ever think to take on someone in one-on one play make sure you have learned all you can and you have every thought covered, as a new Dom you are looking to take on a grave responsibility and i would read up, ask people and if at all possible try on your self in the case of many things or work with a couple who do it often if your not comfortable being on the recieving end of any of it, the biggest gift my Dom ever gave me was to honestly admit when he didn't know something, never lose that part, hubris gets you nothing, its all about being safe and sane,

oh and good luck

Living in the SF Bay area, I've heard from visitors that LA/San Diego is quite rich in local resources such as munches, private parties, clubs/dungeons, classes/seminars, etc. Since the case of the San Diego Six, it might take a little more digging to locate them though.
I would encourage you to do the necessary research to locate them. Once you've attended a few munches and made some friends within the community, you might be surprised how many good people will take you "under their wing". This is especially true if one is willing to say "I don't know, but I want to learn". Please bear in mind, how you present yourself *will* have an impact. Common courtesy, an open (nonjudgemental) mindset, and personal integrity go a loooooong way.

If you want some serious immersion, make tons of contacts, and can travel to San Jose for a weekend - consider attending the Folsom Fringe. :)

Wishing you the best of luck in your journey,
