We were all n00bs once!!  And we certainly ALL make seemingly questionable choices as perceived by the outside world.  Would you rather us ask questions and possibly sound a little naive in the early days, but learn, or be too shy to ask at all?

And this may be a n00bish thing for me to say, but just give us a little consideration and kindness when we're first trying to learn.

Of course that passionate response is different from a "you're an a--hole" reply.  Though I've read posts that struck me as deserving that response, I think I've been successful in suppressing the urge to post it.  Some people are more spontaneous; I've learned restraint in electronic messaging is a good thing after the occasional "midnight memo" to company executives at work.

As has also been mentioned, it would be nice if newcomers to the board searched the archives first.  However, some people are not as good as others at picking the right key words, and get frustrated in a search, which may lead to repeats of questions.
