Does anyone else see the D/s (no BDSM) in the movie's relationship between Eliza and Dr. Higgins?  I chuckle to myself every time I see the "Without You" scene, towards the end. :)

(Hey, if someone can see the Virgin Mary in a peice of toast.. I can see D/s in a musical!)  LOL!

I was watching this tonight, too.  It was on TV.  Yes I picked up on it.  Also I would have fucked the hell out of Rex Harrison, what a fox!

Not sure if I see D/s in Both the stage play and film of "My Fair Lady" or ther book from whence it came, "Pygmalian". However what I do see is a Victorian/Edwardian Houshold. However I have friends who would argue that the relationship between Prof. Henry Higgins and his friend Col. Pickering was one which almost certainly had homosexual overtones and tendencies....

Okay we ARE talking Audrey Hepburn here. *points down at .sig line.

It does have alot of D/s undertones and frankly Eliza was a  SAM.

But she did grow out of it.

I love the movie, though it is below my "Breakfast at Tiffany's"
Holly Golightly would have made a good Domme tho. She had a way of controlling people.

Not surprising. D/s has been apart of every culture humans have ever had. Hell, it's just part of nature. What we do isn't new, it's as old as time. We just put a new twist to it to make it seem "fresh"

There are authority dynamics which operate within every relationship.

That doesn't make every relationship a Ds relationship.

Funny you should mention this movie. I watched it today on TCM.
It is a total D/s relationship.

I also have to agree with captiveplatpus. There is something about Rex Harrison that screams (DOMINATE SUB).

I have called my Sir, my Henry Higgins. I often feel like Eliza and I'm loving the transformation my life is taking now that I have my Dom to control it.

That's another role model movie for me. I've always had fun stuffing a womans mouth with balls.
