SapphosReign26 -> Interest becomes Obsession (8/17/2006 9:36:28 PM)

Well this is a brief blog of my recent discovery. I have always been a little involved in the Lifestyle in all aspects of my life but really never put any thought to it. I've always shunned any notion of interest due to my Catholic upbringing and the guilt that comes along with it, but I met someone in the "scene" that has brought me out of the guilt and to a new interest almost obesession with the Lifestyle. I want to learn everything but don't want to get so sucked in that it becomes unhealthy. Where do you draw the line between obesession and interest? Or maybe obesession is just part of the learning process. Anyways was going to write more but a bit brain dead. To be continued..more blogs to come in the future.

Obsession is when you can think of absolutely nothing else.  A very involved thought process in the early stages is expected. I think about it often, think about my boy nearly constantly.. I dont consider either obsessive. While you are still learning, its normal for it to be on your mind more than average.
My 2 cents.

And if you have any questions, feel free to ask, PM if youd like.

How do you eat a hambuger without the meat?  You gotta take the bad with the good sometimes, though obession can be managed best by schedualing things to do in your day that are satisfying (reading a book), exhausting (jogging five miles a day), or fascinating (modern art galleries.)  Beyond that, the more you learn, the more interesting this will all seem till one day you're spending your very late hours after being out all night typing responses to other obsessives on the internet.

Better to just take it in stride - everything in moderation, and all that.

Anyway, welcome to the site and good luck!

obsessions can come at any stage of life and learning and from many sources (not just yourself); it's best to deal with them as what they are, and they are soon dialed down to a manageable level. i wish you the best on your journies.
