Once you get the basics down there is no substitute for working with someone more experienced. Your profile says you are in Montreal. I know Midori has been in your area a couple times and will be there again October 28 and 29 for a rope dojo weekend. You will learn more in that weekend that a year studying by yourself. A google of Montreal rope bondage should give you hit on more information. That Midori is again going to be in the area tells me that there has to be an active rope group. The other side benefit of attending this type of event is making connections with others in your area. I also cannot recommend Shibaricon highly enough for those interested in Japanese style rope bondage. This will be the fourth year, Memorial Day weekend in Chicago. Just about anyone with any connection with Japanese syle bondage has attended and benefitted. Again google Shibaricon. For books, of course Midori's is now the classic. Bridgett Harringtons's new book has also been highly recommended. It tends to be more practical bondage rather than "pure" Japanese. Finally, search local groups for those who share you interest. We recently formed a small SIG in St. Louis dedicated to bondage. There are others around the country.
