I've never been to a forum where politics are discussed so freely and didn't fall apart to lame name calling and basically acting like jerks to each other. :D  Everyone seems so respectful of each other's opinions, even when they don't agree. Then again I am still new, it could happen!

Heh.  There is plenty of name calling when they do not agree.  Their favorite is racist, bigot and homophobe.  You get used to it though and just consider the source.

I love it here too incidentally.  I spend a lot of time here.

I think there are enough people here who participate and show a determination to stick to the subject and not get bogged down with the usual forum flaming.  Another part of this may be that there's also a good number of people who have grown tired of those sorts of exchanges and know the best way to minimize them is not feed them any energy.  In any case, it's something we can all be proud of creating and maybe keep leading by example.

well I think it might also be due to I am used to gaming forums with kids and brats on it, while this forum is strictly for adults. :p

Yes, there's a few who like to "Label" people who don't agree with them "Racist", "Bigot" and "Homophobe" instead of engaging in an informed argument but we tolerate them like you would a retarded cousin.
