A question for other Masters: What do you consider good techniques to escalate pain to higher and higher levels while maintaining close contact with your sub? Close enough to be whispering in an ear. Just looking for good ideas to explore. Torami

It depends on how far into edge play you are willing to go. I use knife play, and that allows me to closely monitor the amount of pain I want to inflict, while keeping me VERY close to my sub.; in fact, whispering instructions in her ear is very unnerving to them. (i.e. DON'T MOVE OR YOU WILL CUT YOURSELF-VERY BADLY. etc.) Although not direct pain, a good, close-up, use of breathe play will scare the shit out of them.

Torami, I love whispering to beth during our scenes, both public and private. Usually I also use a blindfold so she concentrates on my voice and the sensation, and is less susceptible to distractions especially when we play at clubs. To your question, I employ clover clamps, specifically those that are attached by a chain and pull away from her body while standing behind her. In case you are not familiar with them, clover clamps are the type that tighten when pulled. Very effective for nipples and even more intimate body parts.

The knife may have to wait a bit, though I have a very medieval damascus steel knife <WEG>... clover clamps sound good (I have clamps, just not clover). Any other ideas from anyone? Torami

There are quite a few different toys that can produce high levels of intensity while maintaining close contact. -violet wand -using the wurttenberg(sp?) wheel attatchment is pretty frickken intense. You can also use a contact pad and metal fingertip "claws". -twisted rawhide canes -These canes are very flexible and leave some great marks, even at close range. -Needles -Not as painful as you might think. Go with a higher guage needle and work your way up to the lower guages. You may also want to try acupuncture needles coupled with a violet wand. Have fun... ~Thorns
