lol truesub, does it even matter if one is to say they are not looking, in consideration and/or owned.  I don't know but my experience has proven that it still doesn't matter, there are still those out there that will initiate contact regardless of a persons status.

Alesha.... I agree... when before i've stated in profile... or journal .... about talking to a dom... or meeting someone pretty kewl.... I would get more e-mails.. than I do stating i'm not owned.  (So I quit doing that...lol)

It sometimes made me feel like I was being tested by the dom patrol to see if I would talk  to more than one... or change my mind about something... it all just seemed like a test.

So you're right... don't matter about status.. when someone wants to e-mail.. they will. [&:]

Edited to add....

I've also noticed that sense my profile now reads...if all you want to talk about is sex.. likes and dislikes.. about sex... etc.... got no time.

I still get my share of e-mails.. but it has slowed them down. And that makes me smile... knowing that someone read my profile... and seen our conversation will not be all about sex from get go...and they moved on... not wasting their time.. or mine.

Hey, hey, hey,

> I'm astounded by the number of profiles that begin with the sentences 'Im sick
> of timewasters, sick of nobody understanding me, where are all the polite/decent/
> worthwhile people out there'

For some, I've always noticed a lot of negativity, judgmentalism and hyper
criticism on bdsm sites.

You would think that being in bdsm would make us all a lot less judgmental
and critical.

With love, lashes and endless hugs,
Michael

Maybe you would think that.
I would think it would make us all kinky.
And some of us more bruise-y.
We're still just plain folk, some of whom are quite fond of focusing on the negative.
You'll have that anywhere you go.

(Wheras I know I'm just being an ass when I act negatively. I don't try to justify it as anything else)[:)]

ok, i'm sold.  i'm going to go put up a pic, and admit i haven't been contacted by wankers, whiners, and lonely husbands.  but damn, if i put up the pic, and attract mail from wankers, whiners, and lonely husbands, i'll be back...

...to file a complaint against benji.
It's his week.

northern
i feel you on that. my profile was designed to try and describe me in as few words as possible..and still lacks detail...but, i think it depicts a positive image of me and the type of overall person that i am.
however, when i am looking through profiles and come across one of those as you mentioned, i just click on the next one. even though i'm here looking for like minds and not a Domme or partner, i still want an upbeat positive contact.
so move on to the next one. no sense in wasting time on readin through profiles that begin that way. we all have been hurt and disappointed. left. betrayed. lied to. etc. some of us just chose not to express it to everyone.
have a good day and have fun on the site... i still do
sincerely
sothern

Has it EVER occured to anyone concocting these profiles that there is no bigger turn off to a potential viewer than a stream of self-pitying dialogue as an introductory statement?

From the number of new profiles being constantly posted with the same theme, I'm going to say that it doesn't occur to them it's a bad idea, ever.
