The post states that 'they' both participated in concocting this situation.

In my opinion that couple has a completely honest marriage. Marriage is basically the formalised sale of exclusive sexual services to a man by a woman, the price is a lifetime of food and shelter.

except when you consider that some women actually get pleasure out of sex, and a lot of men are happy to cook and take care of the shelter :)

In a vanilla relationship, the man offered payment for my 'service.' I immediately declined. This 'man' failed to satisfy me within general life; why shoul he 'satisfy' me during sex.

About the only thing that has happened to me that was like this was the sex for lamps incident. But that was a one time thing and I probably would have bought them anyway. Though me and my wife have discussed what various sex acts should be worth at times.. I think that it shows that something is a bit wrong there though. Since I did not see the epidsode.. mainly because I never watch Dr. Phil I am not quite sure what the whole story is aside from the OP and the comments. I think it certainly qualifies as prostitution in essense, but then I don't see anything wrong with that either. I suppose if they have kids or something and they feel this is how they can make it through then it would not be a horrible thing. I think the wife should just give the guy the ok for a girlfriend if she sees sex as such a chore though.
