I have not watched an episode of O'Reilly in years, but that is going to be one expensive severance check.

WickedsDesire -> RE: O'Reilly Forced Out Of Fox News (4/19/2017 12:57:31 PM)

and yet the orange kiddie fiddler one was elected

bounty44 -> RE: O'Reilly Forced Out Of Fox News (4/19/2017 1:29:31 PM)

i imagine so yes.

at the same time, I enjoyed the show and will miss it, and him too.

I don't know this for sure but I think it was probably the most watched show in the fox line-up and its going to be tough to replace it.

Tucker Carlson.

bounty44 -> RE: O'Reilly Forced Out Of Fox News (4/19/2017 1:52:49 PM)

are you meaning moving him to the 8pm slot with his current format?

or having him simply take over for oreilly and keep the format of the factor?

I think the success of the factor is not just bill oreilly (though that's largely it) but the various aspects of the show as well.

He was the most watched show, and Tucker Carlson will take over the Oreilly slot, show.

Is it me or is Fox quickly becoming the Tucker Carlson Channel? How many more people can he fill in for before he has a stroke?

bounty44 -> RE: O'Reilly Forced Out Of Fox News (4/19/2017 2:18:55 PM)

I like him personally, but on his show, he's even worse than oreilly in terms of talking over his guests.

when stuff like that occurs, I find it off-putting and end up not watching.

Hillwilliam -> RE: O'Reilly Forced Out Of Fox News (4/19/2017 5:20:59 PM)

I think they'll need a whole new show to replace him.
Start from scratch.

kdsub -> RE: O'Reilly Forced Out Of Fox News (4/19/2017 5:36:30 PM)

Mr Carlson is to take over the 8 pm slot...at 9 pm they will have a 5 member panel if i heard correctly.

Butch

MasterJaguar01 -> RE: O'Reilly Forced Out Of Fox News (4/19/2017 6:42:35 PM)

I for one (who watches a lot of Fox News) will miss O'Reilly. He was the tabloid pablum wing of Fox News for the elderly low-information viewer.

He made up for his playschool understanding of the issues with his "folksiness", and "old school" style.

Tucker Carlson, is for the younger, extremely low-information voter, and doesn't give you that folksy feeling. He talks over his guests, and maintains that mocking smirk, while he spews completely misinformed nonsense. I will admit, it is sometimes entertaining to watch (and laugh that people watching him are too lazy to do some research and realize Tucker Carlson has no clue what the hell he is talking about. Yes, the same is true of O'Reilly's viewers, but I forgive them more, because they are elderly, and set in their ways. My 86 yr old mother watched O'Reilly nightly, and believed everything he said. (Thank the Lord, my mother is still around. It is O'Reilly who is not (at least on TV)).

I am a bit sad, because I enjoyed Bill O, and Dennis Miller, and his grumpy old man schtick (it was amusing, that he actually thought he was funny), and not to forget Jesse Watters, another low-information moron, who preyed upon leftist low-information people off the street. (I don't call them morons, because I don't get a chance to see them outside of a quick sound bite. I have seen Watters, and yes, he's a moron)

Sad to see Bill O. go. Now more nonsense from Tucker, and inviting people on, to interrupt them.

Just a note. I am watching Hannity's opening monologue. It is like, I am watching boscox.

Every one of the talking points:

"Alt Left"
"Biased media"
"Hysteria"
"Unhinged""
"No evidence of collusion with Russia

The echo chamber is very effective.

Looks like I got under someone's skin

When the reality of the situation is too much for them to handle they slip right into their cartoon fantasy worlds

I am Sean Hannity now... [:D]

You basically are Sean Hannity. I will bet $100 you are 1000% more talented than Sean Hannity, actually. Instead of you copying him. He should be copying you.

Thank you

Camille Paglia is on board with a lot of what I post as well

quote:

FRANK BRUNI: I feel like one can't have any conversation today, without it being at some point about Donald Trump. So I thought we'd just begin with Donald Trump.

Get him entirely out of the way.

In my world of friends and acquaintances it seems like everybody is either in near hysteria and feels like we're in the end of days. Or they look at those people and see a bunch of drama queens. I want to know where you two stand on this. What is your state of mind and state of feeling about the Donald Trump era?

We'll start with you Camille because I know you're so shy with your opinions.

CAMILLE PAGLIA: I am a Bernie Sanders supporter. I voted for Jill Stein. So I want to make that clear.

My feeling is that an election occured.

It is incumbent upon the defeated party to pull itself together, or else we're going to get the reelection of the present administration. That's what I feel right now.

BRUNI: You feel like he is going to get reelected?

PAGLIA: Yes. The Democrats have overplayed their hand. And the -- I just can't imagine--

BRUNI: You're already betting on his reelection less than 100 days in?

PAGLIA: Yes because what the Democrats needed to do-- and the major media, Frank, needed to do was to do some soul-searching.

BRUNI: By that you mean the failing New York Times?

PAGLIA: Yes.

BRUNI: Yes, we're going to rebrand this 'Failing Times Talks.'

PAGLIA: If you read only the New York Times-- I said, 'Oh my God!' The readers of the New York Times are heading for a major, major breakdown shock if Trump is in fact elected.

Go Camile Paglia! She can be the first guest on your new show! (Sincerely, not mocking you. I would watch your show (if it existed) over Hannity any day)
