I can understand the logic in cutting Coast Guard budget as the Department of Homeland Securilliness has taken over part of their mission.
What the phoque does dhs know about boats and seaborn interdiction of smuglers. How many boats does dhs have?
If they can keep the SAR programs of the Coast Guard and the anti Smuggling mission and drop the drug and immigrant interdiction; the budget shift makes a bit of sense.
