America has a technological military, run on Chinese processors, and knock out the satellites that run it, and fry the processors in the equipment, and thats the ballgame.

The emperor has no clothes here.

China got those processors from your boy Bill Clinton. Look it up.

Just more of your partisan bullshit.

After outlining her methodological approach, Mays devotes her second chapter to preliminary attempts to reform the semiconductor industry. Chinese scientists had persuaded their government of semiconductors’ strategic significance during the 1950s, but at the end of the Cultural Revolution only a handful of factories had moved beyond producing discrete circuit components like diodes or transistors. In the early 1980s, the State Council—China’s highest political body—moved to address this technological deficiency. After consulting with industry experts, in 1983 the Council settled upon a consolidation strategy. Instead of distributing resources to dozens of semiconductor facilities scattered across the country, they would instead build two regional “bases” centered around Beijing and the southern city of Wuxi: concentrated geographic areas encouraging the exchange of human and material resources among a handful of firms.

For the remainder of the decade, as the government divested from a growing number of semiconductor factories, it also granted the surviving operations a degree of autonomy and limited access to the open market. At the same time, the government remained deeply involved in the management of five key semiconductor enterprises and a new project to establish China’s first world-class integrated device manufacturer (I.D.M.) facility in Wuxi, where Mays conducted the bulk of her research.

Rather, western capitalist profiteers...have no clothes. Hell the Soviets got the IC from Kissinger and friends during Detente. [sic] Otherwise how would the west create a brand new profit center in countering the ensuing MIRV'ed and mobile missiles the USSR then built...with our help. Ahh yes, the Cold War...the gift that kept on giving and for almost all of that $7 trillion. from 1949 to 1989.

You are talking AS IF China and US has a fantastic relationship?

Remember the disrespect they gave to Obama in China? By refusing to let him alight from the front way of his plane or something?

Remember the frosty and tense reception Obama gave China when they visited?

And BTW, I am glad Trump is saying, "FUCK YOU" to One China!

Nobody should be supporting that Bullshit. They wanna give so much shit to Russia about the whole Ukraine thing.

BUT they don't care that TAIWAN DOES NOT WANT TO BE PART OF CHINA!

And if there is any country that SHOULD NOT be a part of China.

It is Taiwan! And the Taiwanese is going to be defiant and resist all the way to be part of China. China is fucking oppressing them!

China did not get processors from Clinton. What they got was radiation protected chips. In fact as of the Clinton admin. China was well on its way to having or advancing to any processors they needed. Plus, I am willing to give you odds that the prime motivator was lobbying and this a big profit for the supplier.

In addition, Judicial Watch is as partisan as they get, going after every dem action or policy while never laying a hand on repubs.

My point is that he didn't do it on purpose, not that he's ruining a wonderful friendship.
I'm pretty sure that when it comes to international politics, it's generally a good idea to think things through.

The (perceived if not likely to manifest in policy once he's sworn in) antipathy towards China is why you like the cockwomble so much, then, Greta?
That explains a lot.

One argument I've heard for the Chinese "communist" system outliving the Soviet union is that the Chinese have had a cultural bias to think of themselves as members of society first and individuals second (if at all) since they picked up on Confuscianism and the statist legalisms that went with it in a big way around the seventh century and treated it as the philosophical basis of their empire until that finally collapsed. Certainly it seems to have overlapped with Maoism pretty handily: there's very little in Mao's little red book that contradicts the Analects, put it that way.

China is 1/5 of the global population. The US is 4% of the global population.

The Trump US wants to pull back from global military presence, then bully China. China dominates Asia and the south-pacific.

It's a lot of noise...and if it isn't, Trump is going to get the US's ass kicked.

First Obama broadcasts his intent to attack Russia

Now he is making demands of his BFFs in China

And the alt left is paranoid about Donald Trump's foreign policy positions?

So he is antagonizing everyone further before he goes. After his Hope and Change demagoguery was supposed to mean that everyone would love us again if we elected him.

FR how the fuck is China gonna kick anyone's ass? Their Navy is a joke, their Air Force is a joke, and the only thing they have a a huge Army. Kinda hard for that Army to drive to the US to kick our ass.

They don't have to send their army. They can attack Taiwan. They can stop helping with North Korea. They can cause quite a bit of economic trouble, simply by buying planes from Airbus instead of Boeing.

That's just the start. Get the idea?

And, oh yeah, they're a nuclear power.
