I was around when those kids were young and I saw how they treated them. They treated them - the best I can describe it is as young adults. No downtalking. Eye to eye. Like my family, when the kid is wrong you don't pull rank you argue it out and convince the kid they are wrong. Thus the kids learned that, which unfortunately many adults do not even comprehend. The intent of an argument is to convince the other person that you are right and they are wrong. That can be hard for them to take and if you piss them off it is even worse.
We took the kids with us on the Frankelite scheme. he came across this stuff disappeared from a warehouse. Between jobs we took them "back" and got refunds. I remember one time we were walking into Sears and there was a table saw near the entrance and he told the terminatrix (yup, she wore that name for a while, she couldn't get enough of me) "Tell Uncle Terminator you want that table saw". I cracked up.
Now she is a nurse, her older brother moved to Colorado and is some kind of IT guru who works from home and just had his first kid.
but the thing is that we talked to those kids like adults. Fuck all that baby talk shit, it is bad for them. It is also bad for them to be around other kids like in daycare. They need to be around INTELLIGENT adults. And you have to spend the time with them as well. It is not like five minutes a day, which I learned pretty quick hanging out with these people. But the like e and trust me and wanted me to be around their kids, even though me and "Dad" drank and smoked pot together, the olady was fie with that because she knew that we were actually teaching them.
Tell you a little true story. One day the kid comes and want to talk and we are at the kitchen table. Maybe 11 years old ? Wants to talk about what he is going to do in life. This was about 1995. He says something about what is the best opportunity for me ? I said go look up aerospace in the encyclopedia. Him being young said "What page ?". I said "BHow many volumes ?". He went and looked and then I said "Page 241".
I swear I didn't know and it was just a wild guess but there it was.
I guess it wasn't a totally wild guess because I now the alphabet and when he told me how many volumes I did kinda calculate. But the idea was to get him to open the book.
Now, back to the OP. How many Black families do shit like that ? In fact these days how many families period do shit like that ?
And that's another thing, schools are wrong on some things, we taught them to give the answers they want and get that piece of paper.

But I put a foot into it years ago, I just can't anymore. But now I got the kid, 24, calls me his surrogate Father. Actually I think I did help him along a bit with anger management. The broad driving decided to give him a brake test, and he passed being quick on the foot and just had new pads. But he went up to her noticed she had two kids in the car and said something like "You do this with two kids in the car ? That is child endangerment you dumb cunt".
So she walks into the Subway and sees him. She calls the manager and tries to get him fired. Didn't work. Then she sent her olman over there. He is half the kid's size for one and he is in shape. He is getting a bit round but that is what happens in your mid 20s. This little fuck wants to fight and the kid is behind the counter and is like not on working hours. Then the idiot says he is going to the parking lot and bust his windshield.
