In fact, I used a similar paragraph of yours.

No you did not and I showed you the difference.

Reasons exist for such rude behavior.

Yup...when you are rude to me it will be returned. If you don't like it then stop being rude.

Slate attempted to explain the phenomenon, but if your gut instincts have told you some element of superiority is involved, your gut was right. Polite, secure people do not correct other people’s grammar.

I did not correct your grammar. I pointed out that you did not know what you were talking about...affect and effect are not synonyms.

If they have the meaning of what one is saying in conversation, most listeners will overlook slight errors.

Yours errors are gross not slight.

Unfortunately, we don’t always talk with “most listeners.” Sometimes, in person, online, and against our better judgment, we talk with snooty, self-appointed, and insufferable grammar police.

Anytime the discussion becomes too difficult for you to keep up it is always a good idea to excuse yourself.

There is a reason most people have him on hide

Most people do not have me on hide. Just those who lack the intelligence to converse with me without being rude. You are quite aware of how purple I can turn your butt cheeks when you are rude to me.

Prove most people don't hide you with real evidence. Prove those who cannot converse with you intelligently without being rude. Prove that they are not intelligent. Prove that you are intelligent. Why is it important to turn his butt cheeks red even though he was rude? Other than to make you feel better about yourself.

Prove most people don't hide you with real evidence.

Ask around. See who does and who does not then, if it is within your skill set, do the math .

Prove those who cannot converse with you intelligently without being rude.

Would you like another try at forming a real sentence?

Prove that they are not intelligent.

I offer your posts as exhibit #1.

Prove that you are intelligent.

My every post validates that.

Why is it important to turn his butt cheeks red even though he was rude?

He is a she. I said purple not red...clearly you have a comprehension problem.

My post was a simple mental exercise. Your response was an epic fail. Whether He is a she or the color of the butt cheeks is trivial, you pointing it out is banal.

I do understand you are only capable of simple minded exercises.

My response point up your ignorance and inability to comprehend the printed word.

Obviously it was too complicated for your simple mind to comprehend.

This may well need to be a post of it's own, perhaps in Fun and Games, but I've never felt the need to "make fun" based on other people's suffering. However, the question is relevant here.

With all the bickering going on between Chaska, thompson and Termy, on this well intended thread, I would hope for humanities sake that you would be civil enough to each other to at least share a boat ride to safety, should the need ever arise. Heck, maybe even one of you can play the rescuer!?

In answer to the originating post, there truly is a whole lot of unity going on down here in Louisiana.

It has nothing to do with the ability to converse with the little boy, his posting history has proved he has nothing to say so why should I waste my time. As to my butt cheeks, if he did it was in his dreams and no where else. I doubt he would even know how.

First, I hope you weren't impacted by the flood in Louisiana, and thank you for acknowledging the "thread was well intended." The focus seemed more on the flood, tragedy and the unity there, instead of the lack of unity in the events a month earlier that were
also tragic, that was the direction I wanted to go with the conversation. I had hoped it would show that it was possible to settle our differences amicably, unfortunately it proved the opposite. Mainly because the conversation got sidetracked.

It was pointed out I tried to steer the conversation back on topic, although it was impossible due too the disdain of another.
One can only conclude the following motivations.

1. They want to make others look bad so as to advance their own position
2. They are trying to shame or humiliate, perhaps as revenge or a power play.
3. They are a narcissist and can’t handle confrontation or not going along with them.
4. They feel insecure and are overcompensating.
5. They are testing limits in order to feel more independent.
6. They are competing with you for status or position or you are an obstacle to their goal
7. They are trying to put their own spin on a situation to make them look good or minimize their bad behavior.
8. They are trying to bully or intimidate so they can feel powerful
9. They are defending their own actions by pointing out that someone also did/said some things wrong.
10. They want to feel important and respected.
11. They have a controlling personality and have to be in charge.
12. They feel entitled to special treatment or status and do not feel they are receiving it.
13. They have a problem they don’t want to deal with (e.g., substance abuse, mental issues) and are trying to get others to back off.
14. They have a strong unmet need that is not being satisfied.

I had mention before " I seriously doubt "you " (you know who I mean here) would present yourself in a public venue in the same manner knowing full well it would not be acceptable. Here is a good read. " For whatever reason, the internet tends to bring out everyone’s Inner Asshole. "

In light of the behavior one displayed. Sharing a boat ride anywhere has been proven improbable they would sink it just for spite. How can one be a rescuer in this situation? The rescuer.

True, one first has to have the ability to converse ( at least in a socially acceptable way ) with other people, as far as butt cheeks or the desired impact, it's just more delusional thinking.

DesFIP -> RE: Baton Rouge's summer of grief (8/27/2016 3:33:43 PM)

Actually I've decided it's due to insecurity and a sense of entitlement.

You may not get attacked in public in the same way that you are on the net but I can assure you the opposite is true for women. Men who can't get laid, are living paycheck to paycheck feel threatened by any woman who opposes him instead of placating him.

Don't women have as much right to stand up for themselves as men?
Here is an interesting read. Men insecurities

This was a well meaning thread, that went south.
Sad how so many threads are ruined by people who must continue bickering in every thread.

Thank you, In the forums it's said we are all human beings first that deserve common courtesy when it comes to relationships, it would seem the same should apply to conversations on the forum.
