I have no clue what I'm looking for, this is a journey of exploration and trying to figure out a few things about myself. I'd like to make a few friends and begin learning if and where I fit in to the scheme of things.

So who am I? A newly single hiker, a rennie, a sci-fi and fantasy geek and a seeker of knowledge with a few potential kinks. I've never had the opportunity to dig in to a deeply buried side of my personality, I find myself sort of unhappily / happily free to do so now, it's kind of a mixed bag.

I do know I'm not looking for online anything beyond friendship, I'm not in the market for professional services, and not looking to meet with anyone local for anything other than a cup of coffee, at least at first.

Hello Morose and welcome to CollarSpace !!

My name is linaka & I as well have recently experienced an ending to a long term relationship.
I recently became a new member here with the intent of simply making new friends with common interest... at this time. :)

I've 3 suggestions for you; please take them as you will.

1.) Complete your profile. Share your thoughts & emotions re: what you know about BDSM and how it may fit into your life at some time.
Use the INTEREST Section to show what you are about as a person, both BDSM activities and definately the plethora of things that you enjoy doing.
BDSM is not 24/7 365 dungeon time. :) For example, I adore Classic Movies, Broadway Musicals, Egyptian Arabian Horses, cooking and French Bulldogs.
We're just regular folks with a healthy slice of Kink! :)

2). Spend some time researching the lifestyle on your own rather than base the entire collection of knowledge from what you may be told online.
There's a lot of experienced and skilled practitioners of the alternate lifestyle online and especially here, no question about that, but it's also well worth your
time to delve into some self studies as well. You may consider reading the book, 'Screw the Roses, Send Me the Thorns: The Romance and Sexual Sorcery of
Sadomasochism' by Philip Miller. An extremely interesting read and full of valid information.

3). Consider attending a local Munch. Munches are a very friendly gathering of people with like minded interests and are typically held in a restaurant that can
accommodate such a group. The people are quite welcoming and there's no reason to be nervous. :) I can promise you that from personal experience.
If you'd like, I can send you a couple of links that will list the local BDSM Clubs and Munch locations with dates.

It's my personal opinion and experience Morose, that no relationship delves as deeply into the mind and heart as True Power Exchange.

Keep your mind open and step wisely,

linaka

I apologize, Moros, for misspelling your name not once, but twice!! Bad form. Sorry about that.

Hi linaka, no offense taken or apology required. Moros was the brother of the Fates and no doubt the root of the word morose.

I was a little down when I created the account...

Welllll, I sure hope you're feeling lighter inside now, Moros.

I myself, experience good days and bad days... it's odd.

Yes, it is very much a rollercoaster, I go up and down and it is kind of unpredictable what will set me off. More up than down lately,

I do appreciate the kind welcome and advice. There are tons of munches around here and some seem to be worth a try for fit. I've already been looking at attending one or more, it's just a matter of catching one of the interesting ones on a day and time when I can actually go. Missed an open house that I really wanted to attend, I just couldn't make it work.
