The remittances between 2011 and 2014 seen by Four Corners include payments by the Ministry of Finance in Saudi Arabia of $US49,999,988 on August 19, 2011, and $US29,999,988 on November 29, 2011.

There are also deposits recorded by AmBank as having come from a man named Prince Faisal bin Turkey bin Bandar Alsaud, of Riyadh.

These began on February 24, 2011, and continued into 2012 with $US49,999,965 deposited into Mr Najib's account on April 25, 2012, and another $US24,999,965 deposited on May 23, 2012.

These deposits were sometimes accompanied by letters to Mr Najib from a man described in the letter as "HRH Prince Saud Abdulaziz Al-Saud" which pledged gifts to the Malaysian Prime Minister which ranged from $US100 million on February 1, 2011, to $US800 million on March 1, 2013.

On November 2, 2011, for example, the letter pledged a grant of $US375 million, saying:

"This is merely a token gesture on my part but it is my way of contributing to the development of Islam to the world.

"You shall have absolute discretion to determine how the Gift shall be utilised.

"This letter is issued as a gesture of good faith and for clarification, I do not expect to receive any personal benefit whether directly or indirectly as a result of the Gift. The Gift should not in any event be construed as an act of corruption since this is against the practice of Islam and I personally do not encourage such practices in any manner whatsoever."

And Saudis are probably one of the world's largest culprit of funding Islamic terrorism too! Wonder why these terrorists always can survive so well! And where their income come from! Damn they are generous!

They are too damn rich to be throwing money at anybody they want control of!

I'll just mention here that Four Corners is one of the most consistently high quality sources of investigative journalism Australia has ever produced. The program has been running for over 50 years, is broadcast by the government funded station (ABC) and fearlessly shines a light upon politicians (including sitting Premiers), the police and any and all aspects of Australian society.

The only comparable program I'm aware of in the Western world is the BBC's "Panorama".

"60 minutes" doesn't even come close.

The west calls it checkbook diplomacy. That was more for political influence than for religious influence.

What is ironic is that even here, we see Islam resorting to the concept that just in case [we] can't win the argument...we'll pay you to 'further Islam.' Party hardy !!

For some perspective, Th Catholic Church at least in the name of the Vatican, manages $7.1 Billion Euros.

The Vatican bank disclosed its annual report for the first time in the institute’s history as it seeks to improve financial transparency after several corruption scandals. The bank, formally called the Institute for Works of Religion, or IOR, expects 2013 to be marked by extraordinary expenses “for the ongoing reform and remediation process”and the effects of rising interest rates, according to a statement. The bank earlier this year reported that 2012 profit more than quadrupled to 86.6 million euros ($117 million).

A review of all customer relationships and procedures to prevent money-laundering is under way, the bank said in the statement posted on its website. IOR will shut down about 900 accounts, including all of those held by foreign embassies, Corriere della Sera reported today without saying how it got the information. The decision was taken after viewing large cash transactions by diplomatic missions of Iran, Iraq and Indonesia, according to the newspaper
....and you said it isn't the 'bankers' that run the world.

So, pick your poison, which 'church' do you like better ? HERE
