Right up front - I've never started a new thread like this before and am obviously inexperienced or I wouldn't have to ask. BUT I'm wondering whether anyone who is experienced would have information about the use of dog training shock collars or cattle prods on slaves/submissives. Can they be safely used? If so what type of safety measures should one employ? If this seems entirely stupid - I apologize but I'll never know if I don't ask. Thank you for your time.

I use dog shock collars frequently.  It is one of my favorite toys.  However, I have only used them on male slaves and use them around the cock and balls, not around the neck.  I would not use it there for safety reasons.

I believe there are some devices that will work similarly on a fem but I am not certain.  I have never used one.  Perhaps someone else could enlighten you on that one :)

Just remember to never use electric or nerve toys on people with heart complaints, liver problems, glaucoma, or heart murmers.

I would not use a dog collar on a slave...too close the the brain....
I have used cattle prods...specially the 2 prong ones...hey do wonders....Turn a bratty sub into a real obidient one real easy...try it to turn on a sloppy slave....it will kick srat it fast!

I've used the shock collars on sub/slaves.  Even tested it out on myself.  Mine has a four step progression from warning to OMFG.  The dog wears it around his neck, it goes around the thigh of a girl.  And it's remarkably effective on both.

A cattle prod, I would worry about burns on the skin, since they are built for a much thicker skinned animal.

Of course you will get the usual remarks about how and where to use electrical toys.  But I tend to give the manufacturers instructions more weight than what you will hear from hobby users.   I suppose a web search would turn up any cases where a stun gun has been implicated in serious injury or death.

I wouldn't use a dog collar on a dog...and I train dogs. I currently own a dog who has documented brain damage from the chronic use of a shock collar by his former owners. Not something that I think I'd like to play with.

I am anti electric dog collars for dogs and will not use them on a human  in the Lifestyles (BDSM or Goean). Cattle prods, or at least the ones I know can be modidfied to use on a human safely but as the delightfull darks has already commented never ever with people suffering with cardio problems and especially with anyone with a pacemaker. Figure it this way, if you canuse the te,s machine or violet wand on some one the modified cattle prod or a didlo modifies electrically with straps and attendent clips can be used..

Works just as well on females as it does males..  Just take the collar off and slip it down the front of her thong.. Makes you really able to reach out and touch someone..

I agree with Erin; I wouldn't use a shock collar on a dog.  There are far better training methods for them.

I've heard enough cautionary things about shock collars on human necks to make me raise an eyebrow when I hear about this.  I would imagine the thigh is a much better idea.

People have actually asked whether I'd use these devices. My major concern would be safety. So I thought this is a great forum to ask people with real experience and I was right. Thank you all for your replies.  I appreciate your time.

My guess is that it goes along with not using electricity above the waist, too many important things up there to be running a current through.

I wish more people who have had it used on them would speak up, because I had a recent conversation with someone about this, and am interested in learning more as well...  Thus far however, the people I trust above are leading me to think I ought to stay away from that one.

I adore puppy play, and am a fanatic about using only authentic pet equipment with my puppy. I love PetCo and all, especially when other customers give me their recommendations on items. [:D] But I'm also one who would never ever use a shock collar on a dog, so it's out of the question for my puppy.

Electrical collars could cause heart arrhythmias. I doubt they could cause brain damage, but I wouldn't use them because of the potential cardiac problems. Just whip her ass when she goes over the line.

Have a mate who is designing what he refers to as an Alpha Whip. It is an electric single tail where on striking it also imparts an electric shock.. His idea is that the charge is adjustable with the max still being with in safe limits.. I'm looking forward to seeing it in action by Christmas I hope.

At a setting of 1 it's like a pin prick, 2 stings 3 hurts and 5 just about buckles the knees. I haven't tested 6-8 and only did a single shock on 5. If you hold the button down it gives a shock every 2 seconds or so.
Most sinister i think is the warning button. It gives off a tone before it shocks, so you know it's coming. but there is also a button so that only the tone happens, trouble is you can't tell the difference.
One thing i would warn about would be using this on someone who is bound tightly. I could see pulled/torn muscles and such.
Although it is quite intense of a sensation, the pain fades immediatley. kind of like  being snapped with a white hot rubberband that doesn't cause any burns or leave any marks.
75 yard range, works through walls.

I know that dog collars are used and have been used safely but you better know what the hell your doing. Personally I don't want to use them on a sub.

There are other implements that can achieve the same results. I have a TazZapper I and II from www.toystoysonline.com that get the job done. I also use the electric fly swatter that looks like a small tennis racket.

Both Zappers were designed for use on humans by MsToy.
