Divorce is a sin, and so Kim Davis is a sinner. Also, she does not uphold the laws of the land, but I thought this outfit might agree with her regarding same sex marriage laws.

Considering she agrees with them, I found it kind of funny.

quote:

As it happened, the Supreme Court of the United States, fulfilling their destiny, made same-sex marriage the law of the land. The duty of all mankind is to OBEY the laws of God and the laws of man. Enter, Kim Davis. Rowan County Kentucky Clerk, with high-dollar salary and digs, she acquired, ONLY after she took an oath to uphold and defend the constitution and the laws. Kim claims that she has lived in proud sin for many years, divorcing and remarrying, not one time or two times, in fact you need a score card to keep track.

Anyone one who followed the threads on her might have noticed her past as not all that dissimilar to agustin of hippo. Without going into lurid detail he was a total slut turned jesus junquie. If you read the wbc schtick it plays to "you fucked up and now you are going to hell bitch, you do not get to choose god, chooses you and he don't like white trash sluts" I think they call that "tuff luv"

But, they're also calling her out for breaking her "So help me God", hand on the bible oath to follow the law.

I may have mentioned that I will root for any team playing against the yankees. If I had been a roman I would have cheered for the lions. When jesus phreques go to war it tickles the shit out of me. Yes isis is just another bunch of jesus phreques a well as the clowns in china with their machetes and meat cleavers. My thoughts are that the sooner they kill each other the more air for me to breath. No it is not like I am running short but they are just wasting it

Augustine famously prayed, "Lord, make me chaste--but not yet."

Exact wording of his prayer depends on who's translating.

Seems like their funding is slower than it used to be.

You'd think they'd want to picket something current & relevant.

And somewhere other than Kentucky.

That is why I would like to see them get into it with scientology. Miscavich has a shitload of money and uses it to crush his enemies. He could bleed wbc to death in court, which is what he does. In addition he is a criminal on the same level as the mafia when it comes to having peoplel beat up or murdered. On the upside...since hubbard died, leadership under miscavich has taken a turn and has found itself under siege world wide(having been thrown out of a couple of countries for being a scam). They are also facing multiple indictments in the u.s.
I just think it would be a nice show to see them go at it and in the end grow a smokin hole that we can all stand around and warm our hands

But let religious freedom reign when anyone can always come up with their own version of God and scriptures...tax free too. It's almost as if religion is now practiced as an art form. One can paint all they want and as Barnum to aptly reminded...there will never be a shortage.

Satan...get thee behind me.

While I appreciate the link, Oside, I'm just in the category of folks who wish these people would just sit down and shut up. There's enough stupidity in the world without these folks contributing to it all of the time.

Does make me want to buy a Janet Jackson CD though.

Oh, I absolutely agree. I have no idea how you can display that much hate and still consider yourself a Christian.

They show up at ComiCon every year and people make opposing signs that are positively hysterical.

And we've done a couple of Patriot Guard rides where they've been present.

It does appear that they can't afford to travel as much, which would be a good thing.

http://www.godhatesfags.com/schedule.html

from the link:

Her lawyers, being smooth talking fellows say that all that was before her call to salvation two years ago when her current mother-in-law died.

Nice, tidy, cleaver, but no cigar!

Christian religion:
quote:

Second, practice forgiveness. If you are a Christian, always practice a spirit of forgiveness toward all; this will happen if you value Christ's death on your behalf. As Paul told Timothy, "I thank Christ Jesus our Lord, who has given me strength, that he considered me faithful, appointing me to his service. Even though I was once a blasphemer and a persecutor and a violent man, I was shown mercy because I acted in ignorance and unbelief. The grace of our Lord was poured out on me abundantly, along with the faith and love that are in Christ Jesus. Here is a trustworthy saying that deserves full acceptance: Christ Jesus came into the world to save sinners- of whom I am the worst. But for that very reason I was shown mercy so that in me, the worst of sinners, Christ Jesus might display his unlimited patience as an example for those who would believe on him and receive eternal life." (1 Tim. 1:12-16) A truly forgiven person is always thinking about the cross of Jesus Christ, upon which God displayed his infinite love. We cannot understand the length or the width or the height or the depth of it. This love is absolutely incomprehensible!
http://www.gracevalley.org/sermon_trans/Forgiveness.html

seems those baptists arent very good Christians! LOL

But the religion aspect aside lets pop into the law side for a moment:

I love the cherry picking people are doing in this matter where they continually and simply close their eyes to the FACT she is upholding the constitution:

The constitution sworn to be upheld:
quote:

The First Amendment (Amendment I) to the United States Constitution prohibits the making of any law respecting an establishment of religion, impeding the free exercise of religion, abridging the freedom of speech, infringing on the freedom of the press

When people fail to take into consideration ALL the facts they force me to dismiss their premises as frivolous.

the baptist church arguments are frivolous.

If I would have known back when I lived a few hours from you that I was going to turn into such a "The Walking Dead" fan, I'd have probably done ComiCon. (I guess that kind of thing doesn't make me a 'good' Christian either to some folks.)

When it comes to WBC, I tend to have to grit my teeth. The criteria for using the label "Christian" isn't really all that high. Do they believe in Christ as the son of God? Well, they say they do, so I'm not in a great position to say that I'm more entitled to use the label than they are. Doesn't stop me from wanting to be distanced from them, though.

Thanks for participating in the Patriot Rides. It's good to see support come from the other side. I'm always glad to see it when people stand up to those folks.

Yeah, we have a few "christians" here who make me think that whenever they post. I think they're doing it wrong.
