ORIGINAL: KenDckey http://www.washingtonexaminer.com/president-obama-ill-veto-any-budget-if-it-limits-spending/article/2571507 Obama is going to shut down the govt if Congress doesn't approve increased spending in 2016. I wonder where he is going to come up with the funds to pay for it? He would do it if: "And if they don't, they'll shut down the government for the second time in two years," said Obama. "If Congress wants to support working Americans and strengthen our middle class, they can pass a budget that invests in, not makes cuts to, the middle class. If they pass a budget with shortsighted sequester cuts that harm our military and our economy, I'll veto it. If they make smart investments in our military readiness, our infrastructure, our schools, public health, and research, I'll sign that budget." See that bold part? The President wants a good economy, Republicans do not. Maybe you should ask the Republicans why they would rather sacrifice the whole economy for the petty politics? Oh forgot, your one of those people that can not hold your own political officials to any level of real accountability and responsibility with power. quote:
ORIGINAL: KenDckey You increase taxes on business and you increase the cost of products You increase income tax and there is a disencentive to paying it. People get tired of paying taxes. You increase taxes on the 1%, that bypasses the businesses all together. That you think the President is as dumb or more so than you really is comical. He knows not to increase taxes on the poor or the middle class. And there is no love lost on the 1% for most Americans. If you had the choice between raising your taxes or the 1%, which would you choose? You dont want to pay income taxes? I got a great two step process so you'll NEVER have to pay income taxes ever again (for the United States of America at least): 1 ) Renounce your US Citizenship. 2 ) Get the Fuck Out of My Country! We all pay taxes regardless of WHOM is in public office. I paid taxes when former President George W. Bush was in office. Did it when former President Clinton was in office. I did it while President Obama was in office. I voted in all the general and midterm elections in that time for better or worst. quote:
ORIGINAL: KenDckey Doesn't take into account the debt. That would the debt your guy, George W. Bush ran up during his administration. It would take a while to fully explain all the tiny tidbits of data that created that enormous debt that President Obama 'inherited'. He also 'inherited' a bad economy created by bad decision making on the White House's part (not to mention the GOP in Congress that removed regulations like idiots). Yes, it would take time to explain all the fine bits indeed. quote:
ORIGINAL: KenDckey Republicans will probably go along with Obama. But is it the right thing to do? Given that you have put the same about of study into Mr. Obama's budget as you have the Iran Treaty..... ....I would gather you have no clue what your babbling about! Rather than attack the President, how about READING his budget? I would take the President's numbers over the GOP in some cases. The President seems to have good economic advisers. You need proof, I give US History: 2008 to Present. Through a number of events, he has reduced the large deficit to a more manageable number. The US Debt has not gone up as fast as under Mr. Obama's predecessor. The economy was looking like a depression in 2008. Now, we enjoy the lowest unemployment in a long time, the markets are up (the Dow by over twice its value in 2008). Leading and trailing indicators have been running steadily upward for months now. When you look at things objectively, the President has been right more often than the GOP. But before bashing the President, try studying his budget until you understand it! The GOP has been at fault several times for coming close to a shutdown (including a partial shutdown in 2013). If the GOP presents a bill the President will veto; its not the President's fault; its Congress's. That is why they hold meetings. Many, many, many meetings on the subject. To compromise here and there to arrive at the final figure. The more ignorant and dickhead-ish the GOP behaves, the more likely the President will veto the bill and force them to explain themselves to the American people. The budget is Congress's responsibility (as per the US Constitution). Joe If you want to throw me out of OUR country, then I suggest you bring a lot of thugs with you.
